Blackberry core with a strawberry rim. A pretty nose of blackcurrant and primary fruits, youthful and fresh. Quite light and juicy on the palate. A touch smoky and savoury with blackcurrant and cherry. Fresh tannins that are drying but fine, integrated alcohol, light oak influence.

Woodlands Cabernet Merlot is one of the regions best examples. The Watson brothers are the custodians of a family heritage in Margaret River that continues to this day. The Cabernet Merlot has attractive and complex aromas of dark berry and plum supported by well integrated vanillin oak. Vasse Felix, Margaret River's founding wine estate, was established by Dr Thomas Brendan Cullity in 1967. Among his first plantings were Cabernet Sauvignon and Malbec vines, from which he produced the estate's first red wine. The Tom Cullity descends from these original vines and represents the pinnacle of Vasse Felix. The inaugural release will be in May 2017, coinciding with Vasse Felix's 50th Anniversary.

Vasse Felix produces fine Margaret River reds with great balance and style.
