Sourced from specially selected vineyards in central Barossa Valley around Nuriootpa. Matured for 2 years in 50% new oaks and 50% 1-year-old oaks. Using Mixed French and American Hogshead. Elegant rose and violet nose with bright mulberry and cherry notes. The detailed, balanced and restrained palate shows good depth of fruit flavour while the palate shows subtle tannin and structure. Great with any meat or just drink by itself. Drink now or age for 5 - 10 years.

A classic Barossa Valley Shiraz from an excellent vintage. The year is dry which lead to a low yield, producing high quality fruit. Deep ruby colour with purple hues, roasted hazelnuts and spice come to the fore. The concentrated red and black fruit balanced by integrated oak flavour brings the wine together harmoniously on your palate. Christmas Wine Cylinder “Season’s Greetings”. Bright yet deep in colour, Lola’s Paddock Shiraz starts with wild berry and fine French Oak aromas lifting from the glass. It is matured in fine French Oak and created to be intense in flavour, yet soft and approachable upon release. The palate is an ensemble of rich, ripe, gathered black fruits, with elements of mixed savoury spice, continuing to impress in succulent ways. Silken tannins create the perfect finish.

This special edition 1.5 Litre Magnum 2021 Grand Barossa Shiraz celebrates 2023: The Year of the Rabbit, with both hosting and gifting in mind. A classic Barossa Shiraz that shows the classic dark plum, blackberry, exotic spice and toasty flavours of the region, making a wine of great class and refinement.

Vintage conditions The 2019 growing season was a challenging one from the start with a very dry winter and spring with frost events in September disrupting budburst. Windy conditions affected flowering and further frost episodes and hail in November caused further challenges. Very hot and dry conditions during summer and lack of rain resulted in small berries and low bunch weights resulting in the lowest yields in recent decades. The resultant wines have great colour, intense flavours and firm tannins. Vineyard selection The “Home Block” Shiraz was exclusively sourced from our estate-grown Block 3A Shiraz vines planted in 1994. Winemaking Once the grapes have been identified to be of optimum maturation and flavour ripeness, the parcels are brought into the winery where they are destemmed and crushed into the open top fermenters. Manual pump overs are conducted twice daily to provide extraction of colour, flavour and tannins. Towards the end of fermentation, the wine is drained and then pressed to a combination of predominately new French oak barrels for 19 months maturation. Careful barrel selection takes place before the wine is blended. The wine is neither fined nor filtered. Tasting Evaluation Colour: Dark purple, with almost black core. Aroma: Intense bouquet of dark plum, black cherry, espresso, with mocha notes. Vanilla pod and gingernut biscuit hide in the background. Palate: Saturated palate of dark berries, savoury French oak spice complimented with fine grain tannins. Vibrant red apple acidity provides focus and length.

Every so often there are parcels of wine that generate tremendous excitement amongst the winemakers at Schild Estate. They set this aside to make Prämie, the wine that defines the best of the vintage and the land on which it was grown. Intense primary fresh plum flavours show again on the palate, where they hold their presence all the way through to roll out soft and pillowy at the finish. A firmly present, but fine tannin framework provides just enough focus and lift for the fruit to ensure added complexity, but retaining vibrancy to the mouth flavours of this Shiraz.
