Our Two Blocks Shiraz was matured in a combination of new American & second use French oak for 24 months. This gives the wine structure, complexity and a lift of chocolate oak flavour. The finish is smooth and lingering. Cellar for another 5-10 years to see the wine soften and develop further complexity. Winemaker’S Note: 2017 was a great year for both freshness of fruit and balance of spice and elegant tannins. This Shiraz is a great example of our cool climate style, being approachable and elegant with just a touch of oak. Vintage Note: A cool growing season and above average rainfall lead to a mild growing season that presented some challenges towards the end of harvest. Fortunately the rain cleared enough for the Shiraz to ripen and be picked just in time. It was the stand out variety of the season with the balance of spice and ripeness returning to a more traditional style cool climate wine.

Established by Patrick Tocaciu in 1998, our Joanna vineyardis named after the old settlement of Joanna in Wrattonbully. We introduced Joanna to the Sngle Site range in 2018 after having discovered a batch in the winery that was to good to ignore. The south facing slope allows for a long ripening period and concentrated flavour. Expect rich mulberry, concentrated dark fruits, chocolate nuances and an elegance that only cool climate vines can boast. TASTING NOTE: The aroma of this wine is balanced between chocolate oak and raspberry fruit. The palate is medium weight with dark berry fruits and a concentrated fruitcake spice. It is powerful yet elegant and will complex and age well over the next 10 years. WINEMAKER’S NOTE: From the south-facing slope of our Wrattonbully vineyard. Gorgeous purple foam. Plums and dark cherry fruits with Christmas cake spice and some oak complexity. Refreshing and not too heavy, a real crowd pleaser.

This Shiraz delivers bold dark-fruits along with rich red-berry concentrates. Touches of subtle oak and pepper complete the palate, supported by a fine tannin structure.

Deep purple Dark cherries and blue fruits with undertones of stewed fruit and plums with a hint of tobacco. Medium to full palate weight, powerful flavours of spice, pepper and sumac. Structural powdery tannins provide a dry finish to compliment the dark fruits.

The remnants of an ancient seabed formed the hard-packed Limestone base which atop sits the famous Coonawarra Red Terra-Rossa. Even today the marine life can be seen with the soft rock providing a natural filter for the water pooled in the aquifer below. A millennium in creation, it is these features combined that provide almost perfect conditions for premium grapes to grow. The ocean breeze still blows from the west providing the cool nights to compliment the warm days and development of flavour for our Coonawarra wines.

The wine has a deep purple and crimson colour with bright red hues. The Night Owl has lifted aromas of dark plum and blackberries covered with a blanket of fire toasted and chocolate oak. There is a depth of flavours with dark plum and forest fruits weaving through layers of mouth-coating yet fine tannins with pepper and spice mix holding through the finish.

Lifted aromas of blue fruits with a core of dark plum, this Coonawarra shiraz is overlaid with spice and hint of toasty oak. Rich plum and Forest berry fruits coat fine-grained tannins with fresh acidity holding the line until the very end.

Bin 128 Coonawarra Shiraz is an intriguing counterpoint to the warm-climate Bin 28 Shiraz. Showcasing fruits soured from unique terra rossa soils of Coonawarra – a region that exemplifies the perfume, transparency and unique seductive nature of cool-climate reds. Elegant, finely structured and deeply expressive, this wine will reward cellaring for decades.
