A thrilling must-try new white, and a name with a very colourful story behind it. Josef Chromy set up his winery in Tasmania in 2007 aged 76, having escaped from Czechoslavakia in 1950. We are very proud to have a Chromy exclusive, as Tasmania’s highly celebrated wines almost never leave the state! This fresh and elegant white exclusive takes its name from the source of its premium fruit – the Marchington Vineyard, planted on the Marchington estate, by a man called John Smith, the alleged illegitimate son of a King of England, shipped to Tasmania in the 1800s. Strelley Farm Estate is located in the heart of Tasmania's Coal River Valley wine region and is connected to the historic town of Richmond by the oldest bridge in Australia, the Richmond Bridge. This Chardonnay echoes the fruits, flowers and spices depicted on the label. Ripe stonefruit, citrus, and almond spice create a truly elegant example of this variety.

This Sparkling rose by Jansz is a blend of Chardonnay, Pinot noir and Pinot meunier. Intense aromas of Turkish Delights, rosewater and strawberries fill the nose, while the mouth comes alive with luscious layers of Pinot truffles and the creaminess of bright rose and strawberry fruits.

Tasmania is producing world-class sparklings and this is one of the very best examples. Subtle complex and elegant it shows fine intense fruit with classic toasty creamy yeast character.

Ninth Island is a classic Tasmanian Sparkling. Apple and pear dominate the nose that is backed by a balanced yeastiness. The palate has good grip and a dry finish. What a little beauty!

The cooler climate in Tasmania has always been an ideal place for Pinot Noir to grow as this variety requires longer ripening periods. Chardonnay on the other hand just thrive the extra time to develop more elegant floral, crisp green apple, citrus flavour and natural acidity. When these two join forces, they become the classic base blend ideal for Sparkling wine. This is well balanced with a dry, refreshing finish.
