Marie returned to Rully to join her brother, wine lover and wine broker, at the time "method traditionelle" was being introduced for sparkling wines. The wines immediately gained recognition, and her grandson Charles Roux Ambal, followed by his grandson and current President Eric Piffaut, have continued to build on Marie's philosophy of quality, and the combination of tradition and modernity which is the signature of Veuve Ambal. With over 200 hectares of vineyards across Burgundy, mainly planted to Pinot Noir and Chardonnay, Veuve Ambal remain leaders in the production of Cremant de Bourgogne today.

A plentiful mousse sits atop a pale straw base that has gold tinged edges and a fine persistent bead. Toasty yeast lees scents are intermeshed with baked bread, citrus, light honeyed notes and traces of nut. The palate is tense and sculptured with racy acidity running through toast, subtly honeyed pear, yeast lees and roasted nut flavours. The wine shows a fine bead with a lifted floral aroma and fresh fruit forward palate with subtle yeast characteristic, it finishes with a refreshing touch of apple and citrus.

Made with premium Tasmanian grapes. This has a lovely rose colour and an excellent bead. There's a freshness here with rose petals, strawberry & citrus on the nose that then follows onto the palate. Excellent value!
