Ladies Who Shoot Their Lunch Riesling is an evocatively named wine from the stable of sustainable living exponent, Matt Fowles. Sourced from family owned estate vineyards high up in the Strathbogie Ranges in Central Victoria, the 'Ladies' Riesling is able to contain the perfect acid levels to produce an aromatic white of utmost power and austerity. Not lacking in any complexity or texture, this is a food style Riesling that will drink nicely tonight or sit comfortably in the cellar for the next 3 to 4 years.

Eden Hall Reserve Riesling made from fruit from select rows in block 8 with a south western aspect. It is pale straw yellow showing a lifted, perfumed floral nose with hints of lavender. Steely minerality on the palate with more lemon than lime. A tight, single minded classic Eden Valley Rizza of impecable pedigree smugly basking in its understated nobility.

This classic Riesling has crisp and racy finish with a slight touch of sweetness to balance the natural acidity.

Since the early 90's, Penfolds have been producing Chardonnay from the cool climate region of Tumbarumba. The Chardonnay is elegant with white florals, stone fruits and a great acidity structure. Maturation in French Oak gives the Bin 311 a subtle nutty savoury flavour through and through. A great all season wine for all sorts of occasions.

How can something that is so light in alcohol have such incredible palate weight and texture? It's an art form and Ernst Loosen is a master. The Kabinett style means a decent lick of residual sugar, but the steely, crunchy acid means you'll hardly notice it. Simply stunning.

Pristine grapefruit, green apple and white nectarine with complex notes of fennel. Restrained barrel-derived cinnamon and subtle struck-flint aromatics allude to the purity and intensity of this wine. Seamlessly structured, this single vineyard wine shows the distinctive features of the high altitude Johansen vineyard. After 18 months in the bottle, a backbone of citrus and refined texture leads to a long refreshing finish. A wine of both purity and power with intense length and flavour.

With aromas of white citrus blossom and steely minerality on the nose, this Frankland Estate Riesling has soft and approachable flavour combinations of lime and mandarin pith, highlighted by the texture and the hint of spices driving the acidity throughout the palate. This is an exceptional wine that can be enjoyed now or with the right cellar condition, it will continue to develop further complexity for many years to come.

Whenever we taste a blind Shiraz line up where this wine is featured, it's hard not to be lured into its enticing character of purity and style. Hauntingly akin to a Northern Rhone example, violets, spice, wild herb and earth wrap around a delicious core of red fruits and plum. Bravo Nick O'Leary. 'Canberra's benign 201213 growing season produced, in abundance, grape quality not seen in the much cooler, wetter 2011 and 2012 vintages. Our exciting 2013 reds include Nick O'Leary's shiraz a jaw dropper that kept judges gaping as they piled gongs on it at the 2014 Royal Brisbane Wine Show. They gave it a gold medal, then three trophies: best one-year-old red of the show (Stoddart trophy), best shiraz of the show and best red of the show. This is a significant achievement for Canberra shiraz and not just for O'Leary. It provides yet more recognition, in a hotly contested national event, of our region's distinctive style. O'Leary's highly perfumed, medium-bodied wine shows the vibrant red berry- and-spice character of cool-grown shiraz on a luscious, silky palate, cut with fi ne tannins. No two words go together as well as Canberra and Shiraz in the wine world. The favourable terroir and hands on winemaking make Lerida Estate's Shiraz a must have. Brambly spice aromas are complimented by a palate that is long and refined with flavours of berried and touch of pepper. With age, the wine will become progressively richer, revealing warmer, more complex flavours, riper berries and a little liquorice.

Taut, tight and classy, this Tumbarumba Chardonnay is very well put together. Great balance between toasty oak and fresh citrus fruit.
