It all starts with the vineyard, paying careful attention to pruning and the health of the vines. Cool climate vineyards enable the vines to produce rich flavours and characters over a longer growing season. O'Leary Walker Pinots have never been shy in colour and the 2019 vintage is no exception - gorgeous crimson red with a hint of purple. O'Leary Walker Wines was established in 2000 by winemakers David O'Leary and Nick Walker. With over twenty five years experience and established reputations making premium wine with the big companies, these two long time friends decided to take control of their own destiny and craft small batches of wine from some of the best vineyard sites in South Australia. With a great leap of faith they are now doing exactly what they set out to. Based in Leasingham in the Clare Valley, the duo source fruit from all over South Australia (including the Barossa, Adelaide Hills, Coonawarra and McLaren Vale) but some of the best fruit comes from the Clare Valley itself. Of particular note is the Grace's vineyard in Watervale which supplies Riesling for the lauded 'Watervale Riesling' label. Grace's is a dry grown, west facing vineyard that sits on the classic 'red loam over limestone' Watervale soils and produces wonderful Riesling fruit. Similarly, the Smith and Molloy vineyards in the Polish Hill River area also contribute wonderfully intense Riesling fruit of the highest order. The O'Leary Walker range focuses on some premium regional varietals, taking the best bits from all around South Australia. The theory behind this is to draw on the grape varieties that excel in these quite different viticultural climates.

Anderson Hill O Series Pinot Noir

Clear bright ruby. Sour cherry and raspberry characters lifted by wet leaves and mushroom. Fresh cranberry and red cherry with hints of licorice and lively yet smooth tannins.

2023 PINOT NOIR THE WINE Seductive black cherry overlaid with exotic spices lead to a palate of supple fresh berries, bright acidity and lingering fine grained tannin. The very essence of youthful, vibrant Adelaide Hills Pinot Noir from carefully selected vineyards. VITICULTURE With enough sunny days to develop ripe, intense flavours 2023 was a cool and late vintage. The 2023 Epee Pinot Noir is made up of four clones - MV6,777,114 and 115 from vineyards at Gumeracha and Lobethal. More clones equals more complexity. WINEMAKING Harvested in the cool of night and early morning, pristine destemmed fruit is tipped directly into fermenters without crushing to give a high percentage of whole berries. The fermenters are gently pumped over twice a day to keep the skins wet and promote gentle tannin extraction. After pressing the wine is kept in stainless steel tanks prior to blending to preserve freshness and vibrancy.

Anderson Hill "Forest Wanderer" Pinot Noir

A wonderful expression of the cool micro-climate of Lenswood, from the exceptional 2021 vintage. A blend of clones 114, 115 and 777 from two Lenswood vineyard sites. Billowing cherry blossom, strawberry and clove spice lead the inviting nose. Fine tannins support the palate awash with red cherry and plum fruit, gentle nutmeg and white pepper lingering though the finish.

Ulithorne Altus Adelaide Hills Pinot Noir

The Altus Pinot Noir presents a light ruby colour, and fresh red fruits such as cherry and raspberry unfold on the nose. The palate is complemented by juicy red fruits and touches of light spices. This wine is medium-bodied, balanced by structured tannins and acidity for a well-rounded finish.
