This wine, Freycinet's junior Pinot Noir, reveals liveliness and youthfulness in its colour, aroma and flavours. Similar winemaking techniques are utilized as for their renowned Freycinet Pinot Noir. Fully ripened fruit from their Louis vineyard site is fermented over a 7 to 8 day period in a rotary fermenter. A pure yeast culture is added and the ferment temperature is allowed to peak at 32 degrees. After gently extracting colour, flavour and tannins from the skins the wine is pressed and matured in French oak barriques (8% new) for 12 months prior to bottling.

Hailing from northern Italy, the Lubiana family have been winemakers for generations. Since 1990 Stefano has continued his family's legacy in the pristine vineyards of Tasmania. The fruit for this wine comes from some of the best vineyards in Derwent River. Stefano's care and meticulous attention to detail, result in a wine of both power and elegance.

We are very proud to have a Chromy exclusive, as Tasmania’s highly celebrated wines almost never leave the state! This rather regal Pinot Noir takes its name from the source of its premium fruit – the Marchington Vineyard, planted on the Marchington estate, by a man called John Smith, the alleged illegitimate son of a King of England, shipped to Tasmania in the 1800s. Don’t miss it!

The unique terroir consisting of ancient stony soils allow the premier Pinot Noirs from Craggy Range to ripen gradually while still retaining perfect acid balance. This is on show perfectly in the Te Muna Road Pinot Noir that is sourced from the higher terrace on the Te Muna Road Estate which is planted with eight clones of Pinot in more than 40 different parcels. From this eclectic bunch the grapes are hand-picked and fermented naturally before spending eight months in French oak. The result is a Pinot of class and structure; dark and brooding with a texture not dissimilar to silk.

Earthy and dark cherry aromas are followed by a complex palate of blood plums, fine tannins and some bracing acid. With lifted aromas of dark cherry and berry fruit with underlying notes of mocha and cinnamon giving way to a sumptuous palate of bramble and spice characters with considerable length.

Dry rose with a beautiful salmon blush color this wine was barrel fermented with wild yeast. It displays red berry and apricot characters with grip and texture on the palate.
