The ruggedly spectacular vineyards of Tasmania have proved themselves capable of producing such fine sparkling wine that many think them the most serious challenger to the great Champagnes. The traditional grapes of Chardonnay and Pinot Noir make this Distant South sparkling, a wine of finesse and complexity, of length and flavour. A Rich toastiness mingles with crisp apple notes, backed by a persistent creamy texture. A sparkling wine of outstanding quality.

Barringwood Mill Block Pinot Noir shows a soft raspberry red colour in the glass. The wine presents a generous nose of cherries and raspberries underlined by earthy and cherry tones. The gentle and fruity palate gives way to delicate spiciness and vibrant minerality. These enticing characters culminate the wine in a long and elegant finish marked by fine and powdery tannins. The cool slopes of the Tamar Valley region, located in northern Tasmania, have the potential to produce great sparkling wine. This richly flavoured cuvée made from Chardonnay and Pinot noir by Pirie boasts complexity from barrel-aged base wine and reserve blending. It displays the impact of terroir and the favourable interaction of climate and soil on these vines.

Northern Tasmania is widely known for the quality of sparkling wine produced in the cool climate region, with the first 1995 vintage of Pirie doing much to establish this reputation. Now a new chapter is born with Pirie NV Sparkling - A full flavoured cuvýe from a blend of chardonnay and pinot noir, boasting complexity and freshness.
