Having grown grapes for generations, the Skidmore family provides premium fruit for multi-award winning winemaker Liz Silkman to turn into stunning wines. In the glass: Medium red garnet. On the nose: Blood plum, mulberry and cedar with a hint of mocha. On the palate: Featuring darkly fruited characters with bay leaf and pepper complexity, its a medium-bodied style with lovely dry, savoury tannins.

In the glass: Full deep red. On the nose: Delicate redcurrant, plum, cedar and a light leafy lift. On the palate: Textured with a medium weight core of dark fruit, elegant line and touches of coffee, cherry and savoury oak.

Aaron Mercer's new self-named venture is going from strength to strength, and is delivering some exceptional wines from across NSW, in this case Hilltops Tempranillo.Bright, deep purple. Youthful black cherry, blood plum, plum, pepper and cedar box. Crisp and refreshing entry, in a medium-bodied frame, with supple red fruit flavours, silken tannin structure, vibrant red berry acidity and good complexity throughout.

This Hilltops Tempranillo is packed full of rich, spicy red fruit with a savoury undertone. It is ripe and full flavoured with fine, tannins and a long fleshy finish.

This rich and flavoursome wine shows classic cool climate Shiraz notes of white pepper and aromatic red fruit, combined with a long, well-structured finish.

The 2008 release of this took out the prestigious tri-nations award. The 2009 from a stronger vintage looks even better. A classicist?s Merlot; plum and cassis supported by fine tannin.

The savoury and smooth Tempranillo is complimented by thespicy fruit and structure of Graciano. The resultant wine has greater intensity, depth and length.

Tim Kirk has quickly become Australia's Shiraz-Superstar. With cool-climate vineyards that are managed pefectly and with expert guidance, Clonakilla is a must have for all serious wine lovers. Tim's Hilltops Shiraz has luscious dark Shiraz fruit, with blackberry, roasted meat and gentle spice in the background. The tannins are ripe, the fruit juicy, the finish long and savoury. Superb.
