Chaffey Bros Barossa is Shiraz Synonymous

Barossa born and bred, winemaker Daniel Chaffey Hartwig is the fifth generation of the Chaffey brothers' descendants to make wine in Australia. This progressive family winery showcases purity of fruit and minimal intervention winemaking while celebrating the sub-regional diversity of Barossa Shiraz. Deep purple in the glass, an appealing mix of sweet dark plum fruit and hints of spice are gently supported with French oak. Soft and juicy yet powerful that drinks just beautifully right now.

Head Red GSM Barossa Valley

A significant contribution of fruit from vines which are 100 years old make this one very special blend indeed. Theres a class and sophistication to what is a delicious medium bodied and brightly fruited red. Its savoury nature is so moreish and this really does offer a great alternate red wine drinking experience. Alex Head - Head Wine Winemaker - The Barossa Valley has been witness to the coming of a new wave or new breed of young talented winemakers. Weve been intently following Alex Head throughout this time, producing a unique set eye opening Barossan wines, inspirationally drawn from his passion towards Northern Rhone Syrah. Soil and aspect is therefore very much key, imparting style and character and this new release Head Red is no exception.

Originally a slaughterhouse, today it occupies a much more serene position overlooking rows of low-yielding Shiraz vines. The spice carries through to the palate, backed by intensely powerful tannins and integrated oak characters from eighteen months maturation in new and one-year old French and American hogsheads. This wine will benefit from careful cellaring for 5 years and beyond.
