Geoff Merrill Henley Shiraz shows a deep brick red colour lined by cherry red hues. A whiff of the wine reveals generous scents of berry fruits and toasty French oak. Ripe fruit flavours combine with fine and powerful tannins on the full flavoured palate, to provide an elegant structure. This delightful Shiraz ends in a captivating finale. It tastes marvellous with lamb shanks in a red wine jus, chocolate-dipped honeycomb, and sharp Cheddar cheese.
Yangarra Estate Ironheart Shiraz
The dark fruit aromas are underpinned by developing earthy characters, with spice and a hint of minerality. The palate shows plenty of power and concentration as the fruit unfolds, with big soft tannins, so typical from this site, and the iron-like sanguine finish. Ironheart represents the most eloquent expression of Shiraz from our Estate, grown on the most elite Shiraz block which we refer to simply as Block 15. The name Ironheart speaks to the reddish ironstone soils of this unique site. As with all of our wines, we use open-top fermenters, natural yeast fermentation and employ a careful regime of plunging, drain and returns to get the right balance of extraction. We fill 25% of the fermenter with whole clusters which adds some texture and complexity. The Yangarra philosophy centers around producing wines solely from our single-vineyard estate, where our bush-vine Grenache is the keystone variety. With our feet firm in history, and our eyes on the horizon, Yangarra Estate now exists to deliver the essence of this beautiful place to your glass. A single-block Shiraz from 80-year-old vines. Hand harvested. The fruit, spends 10 days on skins, hard pressings removed. Moved to puncheons for malolactic conversion & maturation, 14 months on oak. An approachable, yet complex, drop. A nose of Red berries, earthy tones & baking spice. A full & fleshy palate of plums, berries, dried spice, & chocolate with robust tannin structure.

Bekkers Syrah Grenache McLaren Vale The Syrah is sourced from red clay-loam over siltstone rock in Clarendon (which they now own) and Grenache from sand over orange sandy-clay in the much vaunted Blewitt Springs. Picked by hand, vinified with 15-30% whole bunches and cold soaked for 5-6 days before natural fermentation and basket pressed to aged French oak 500L puncheons. Deep inky purple with a nose of lavender, violets, blueberry, blackberry, Indian spices and a palate of leafy blackcurrant and a long, soft, silky texture.
