Famous for rich concentration and opulent power, this exceptional Australian Shiraz is as popular abroad as it is at home. Definitely one to place in the cellar and simply forget about - let the patience reward you over 10 or more years time.

Deep, rich red.Black fruits and spice. Raspberry, blackberry, cherry, chocolate, fine perfectly integrated tannins.

Lovely floral and spicy complexities, with hints of fruits of the forest, pepper and ginger snap. The palate displays the full range of dark berries, Mediterranean herbs, and savoury pan jus elements. It is tight and compact, intense and deep, firm and taut, with nicely measured grip and tremendous length. A powerhouse of a wine, but also one possessed of great elegance.

The wines pour a deep ruby‑garnet with the slightest violet edge and opens on the nose with rich blackberry compote, dark plum, iron‑stone minerality and a whisper of baking spice. On the palate it delivers layered dark‑fruited intensity—black cherry, bramble, cocoa nib—supported by muscular but refined tannins, bright acidity and a lingering savoury‑stone finish, making it structured for long‑term cellaring.

Gravel soils make up the primary soil type at Château l'Evangile which is consistent with most of Bordeaux's right bank region of Pomerol. Merlot is the variety of choice in the blend with Cabernet Sauvignon to create a wine full of plushness, vibrant aromatics and smooth, lingering finish. The 2009 vintage was wonderfully kind of all of Bordeaux and Pomerol was no exception with the l'Evangile producing a wine of plushness and warmth as well as one of concentration and power. A classic Pomerol.

Château Pontet-Canet is a classic large Pauillac property that adjoins the Mouton Rothschild vineyards that in the past has struggled to get fruit richness into their wines until Michel Rolland was called in. The wines of the past 15 years have produced lovely, voluptuous reds with ripe fruit and brilliant balance. The 2009 is quite simple a stunning incarnation of Pontet-Canet and quite possibly their best wine ever produced! A 'tour de force' of the highest standard, layers of concentrated fruit along with sublime oak integration see this biodynamically farmed vineyard reach Bordeaux perfection. Will age comfortably for the next 50 years.

Graveyard Vineyard is the jewel in the Brokenwood crown, responsible for the company's flagship wines. The vineyard was planted with Shiraz vines in 1970 - extremely heavy clay soils, yields are low, but fruit flavour is intense through employment of meticulous vinification techniques. Strong lifted aromas of sweet earth and dark cherry greet the olfactory senses. Oak features, but will soften and integrate given some patience. Initial flavours of dark chocolate and ripe plums are beautifully lashed to ripe tannins lending an edge of cedar.

Elegant and aristocratic kaleidoscope of aromas, an abundance of fruit flavours, blackberry, mulberry and blueberry with supporting complexity of mint, eucalypt, rhubarb, Turkish delight and cinnamon. The Yalumba The Caley Cabernet & Shiraz Museum Release 2014 is a bold and elegant wine from South Australia. Expressive aromas of blackcurrants, dark berries, and subtle oak fill the nose, teasing the senses and hinting at the depth and complexity of this vintage. On the palate, rich notes of plum, blackberry, and mocha are expertly balanced with fine tannins and a touch of spice. The deep ruby color adds to the allure of this wine, reflecting the intensity of flavors within. The finish is long and smooth, leaving a lingering impression of dark fruits and a touch of sweetness. This 2014 vintage from Yalumba is a testament to their commitment to quality and their mastery in blending Cabernet and Shiraz grapes. A true delight for all wine enthusiasts.

Proudly, a wine style that hasn’t succumbed to the dictates of fashion or commerce. St Henri is rich and plush when young, gaining soft, earthy, mocha-like characters as it ages. It is matured in old, 1,460 litre vats that allow the wine to develop, imparting minimal, if any oak character. Although a small proportion of Cabernet is sometimes used to improve structure, the focal point for St Henri remains Shiraz.
