Clare Valley’s Jim Barry is a name known around the world – a byword for quality and wine expertise. A founding member of Australia’s First Families of Wine, the Barry family celebrated the 60th anniversary of its winery in 2020, the year it also scooped the title of Halliday’s ‘Winery of the Year’. Over three generations the Barry name has been famous throughout the wine world and synonymous with the Clare Valley. Jim Barry bought his first vineyard here in 1959, and even helped the Taylor family open their winery a decade later. High up in the Adelaide Hills, Paracombe is owned and operated by the Drogemuller family, which it has passionately done since 1983. Sourced from both estate and selected grower fruit, Paracombe Shiraz shows wonderful ripe fruit aromas with a delicate cool-climate aspect. Notes of cherries, plums, pepper and spice are notable along with a palate of layered spicy fruit and a fine tannin structure.

Taylors Reserve Parcel Cabernet Sauvignon has an aroma of rich blackcurrant, subtle spice, tomato leaf and a touch of eucalypt. French oak maturation is also evident with subtle aromas of cedar and dark chocolate.

Fruit for this cool climate Shiraz was selected from a diverse range of vineyards across the Adelaide Hills. It is deep red in colour with bright purple hues, this wine exhibits lifted and intense aromatics, with ripe and spicy dark fruit characters of blackberry and black plum mixed with a touch of pepper and vanilla bean. A full bodied, elegant wine it shows a balanced acidity and silky tannins culminating in a long finish on the palate.

Cappa Stone Sangiovese is a rich and full flavoured wine showing an aromatic bouquet and plush palate full of blackberry, raspberry, plum and earthy characters. These elements are supported by subtle oak nuances and velvety tannins on the layered palate, offering complex structure to the wine. This Sangiovese tastes great on its own or with pizza.
