One of them, a South Australian, defied preconceptions and invented wine cask, breaking the rules just to keep his wine fresh. A box makes perfect sense. It’s airtight, economical and environmentally friendly.The Stubborn Few Pinot Noir is aromatic and has soft generous flavours of luscious red berries and lingering finish. Restrained red fruit with a background of menthol, leather and tobacco on the nose leads to a big mouthful of cherries, vanilla and plums with good intensity. A nicely balanced wine, drinking very well.

Yalumba Y Series Merlot is soft and supple, with sweet, ripe fruit flavours and a hint of liquorice or anise. Merlot is an excellent alternative to the heavier and more tannic red varieties.

The finest Cabernet Sauvignon and Shiraz grapes from Australia's premier vineyards were selected for this wonderful, bold and full-bodied wine. With its fruit driven character, Altoona Hills Cabernet Shiraz is an elegant and flavourful wine that tastes like a mouthful of berries.

Yalumba has set the benchmark for reasonably priced Shiraz Viognier with this label. Aromatic sweetly fruited and silky it shows flavours of liquorice and plum with hints of apricot and soft tannins.

George Wyndham was one of the founding fathers of the Australian wine industry after planting the first commercial vineyard in 1830. Wine like this Cabernet Merlot pay tribute to George with its rich blackcurrant and cassis flavours, complemented by plum flavours and soft tannins. A great match with a variety of red meat and game dishes, Mediterranean cuisine and cheese.
