This McLaren Vale Nero d'Avola from the talented team at Coriole has an incredible swag of awards including two Gold medals and four Trophies! In the glass: Medium density dark red. On the nose: Fresh red and dark cherry aromas with herb and violet perfume. On the palate: Medium weight yet quite intense with raspberry and redcurrant fruit freshness and lifted acidity. Very youthful, lively and Pinot-like with light, silken lingering tannins and savoury spice. Quite delicious!

Oliver's Taranga Shiraz

Made by Corrina Wright, a sixth generation member of the Oliver family, this is McLaren Vale Shiraz to the extreme. There's bold chocolate and blackberry flavours, a hint of pepper and smokey overtones. The alcohol sits at the higher end of the spectrum and there's plenty of vanilla oak, but the fruit intensity pulls it all together to produce a superbly balanced wine.

D'Arenberg The Feral Fox Pinot Noir

No, not Pinot Noir from d'Arenberg's home town of McLaren Vale, but an exquisite smelling, plush-feeling Pinot from the cool Adelaide Hills. Not really 'feral' either - rather a pure, varietal Pinot Noir with spicy complexities and a welcome firm tannin structure adding to the 'this is serious stuff' impression that this wine leaves in your mouth.
