Wirra Wirra McLaren Vale Grenache Shiraz

This release is blended from vineyards near the McLaren Vale township, Willunga, Onkaparinga Gorge and Blewitt Springs, chosen for their capacity to capture the essence of the regional style. A medium-bodied wine with a plush palate and bright, vibrant, red fruit characters and lovely spice, this Grenache Shiraz calls for great food, good company and a second glass.

The Good Grape McLaren Vale Shiraz

Collaborations Shiraz by d'Arenberg

Good winter rains set the vines up well for the ensuing dry, warm growing season. The ripening period was characterised again by warm, dry condition without excessive heat which gifted us rich, opulent reds with well-balanced structure. The moderate weather allowed us to harvest fruit at optimal ripeness. The Shiraz in particular demonstrates rafts of blackberry, fennel and earthy characters, typical hallmarks of a classic d’Arenberg red. Produced in close partnership with some of Australia's finest vineyards, Collaborations is our new capsule range of five wines. After over a year of tasting and scoring, we arrived at our core collection of wines: a Brown Brothers prosecco, a Mr Riggs shiraz, a Yering Station chardonnay, a Pizzini pinot grigio and a Xanadu cabernet sauvignon. Richard Hamilton Little Road Shiraz

Train To Nowhere McLaren Vale Shiraz

Trains played a key role in early South Australian history. McLaren Vale was a central stop for passengers on their journey between Melbourne and Adelaide before highways rendered the railways unnecessary. Now, these 'ghost rail lines' are all that's left of the bustling intercity connection; a testament to times past when trains ruled. The rolling stock that sits idle are all that's left; a Train to Nowhere. This Shiraz is a tribute to those trains that carried passengers faithfully between cities. It displays sweet blackberry and Christmas cake aromas, with a full palate of dark fruit and dashes of cinnamon and spice.

Beresford Shiraz

Beresford pride themselves on passionately capturing the pure varietal expression and the essence of their terrior to deliver a Shiraz of timeless elegance and muscular complexity. Quintessentially McLaren Vale, the wine has a rich, full palate brimming with dark berry fruits, coffee and spice characteristics finishing with soft, lengthy tannins. A cracking wine of great substance and exceptional balance.

Wirra Wirra Sparrow's Lodge Shiraz

Sitting proudly next to the iconic Woodhenge gate at Wirra is a classic Aussie residence. Originally built after severe storms destroyed the winery buildings in 1940, the then owners, the Sparrows, built this residence with left over materials from the fallen winery. Over the years, Sparrow's Lodge has been home to vintage vagabonds and the occasional winemaker and it is the good times that have been had within its walls that is celebrated in this wonderful, rich, vibrant and full-bodied McLaren Vale Shiraz.

Chapel Hill The Vinedresser Shiraz

Chapel Hill The Vinedresser is a true to form McLaren Vale Shiraz. With hints of blueberry and spice and a long, silky finish.

Chalk Hill Luna Shiraz

Angove Family Crest Shiraz

The premium fruit parcels for this Shiraz wine were sent to the winerys Vintage House and crushed into 7-decade old concrete vats. Fermentation was carried out by wild yeasts found on the skins of the fruit. This was followed by careful extraction. Post fermentation maceration was done next and the drink transferred to American and French oak hogsheads for malolactic fermentation. 14 to 16 months later, the resultant wine was racked and filtered.
