Anna and Jason Flowerday run the Te Whare Ra vineyard in Marlborough according to organic and bio-dynamic practices. The fruit is picked and sorted by hand, then processed in a winery especially designed for small-batch wine-making. This dry Pinot Gris is finely structured with great purity and length of flavour. The fruit for this Onannon Mornington Pinot Gris was handpicked and pressed immediately into the tank. It is then settled overnight and racked to both tank and old barrels. A cool fermentation took place over two months during which the wine was stirred regularly to increase texture. Resulting in wine with great aromas such as ripe pears, mixed stone fruits with hints of cooked green apple in the background. It then leads to a full flavoured, textured palate with a delightful finish.

This lovely, light pink coloured wine was crafted using 100% Pinot Noir grapes. Fragrances of fresh and floral candied fruits flow off the aromatic nose, effortlessly fusing with the dry and refreshing palate full of Pinot Noir flavours. Cool mineral acidity balances these elements, leading to a long and satisfactory finish. Pair this delightful Rose with light salads, rice, pasta and goat cheese.

This vintage Riesling was harvested from the Central Otago wine region. It has an alcohol level of 8.4% and the colour of this medium-sweet white wine is a glittering pale white gold. Primary fruit aromas of nectarine, apricot, honey-crisp apple, citrus, spring blossoms and plum flow off the nose, with underpinned fragrances of honeycomb, ginger and clove. The palate features flavours of apple, pear and mineral nuances, with a touch of honey that fills the mouth and leaves a fresh taste. The mid-palate is filled with notes of tangerine and lime. The balanced sweetness and fine acidity are brought to fruition by a long and cleansing finish. This wine is best served at 43°F. Here are a few food suggestions: honey-roasted pork with braised vegetables, stir-fried shrimp with bacon, fried semolina dumplings with apricots, and snapper with charred tomatillos.

This delightful Mysterious Diggings Pinot Gris features a pale yellow colour with green tinges throughout. The fragrant bouquet offers enticing floral aromas which gives way to a lush and intense palate filled with juicy fruit flavours and subtle spicy notes. These flavours and aromas are balanced by a sharp mineral acidity, altogether leading to a clean, dry and lingering finish. This wonderful Pinot Gris has the potential to be cellared for 3 to 5 years from vintage, tasting great with fresh vegetables, pastas, fish and light salads.
