We scoped the entire Barossa to find this tiny parcel of old vine Shiraz that fits perfectly with our philosophy of people, place and purpose.

Based at their Home of the Brave winery in the Barossa, First Drop describe their wine-making philosophy as a sensibility for tradition with a passion for innovation. This Shiraz is garnet red with purple hues. Complex nose of dark cherry and blackberry aromas with a hint of forest floor and spice.

The Barons of Barossa include many well-known and award-winning winemakers from wineries including Henschke, Elderton Wines, Kalleske, Glaetzer Wines, Kaesler Wines and Yalumba, to name only a few. The outstanding 2016 Barossa vintage, with its long, dry and warm summer days, has produced a wine that is full of rich dark fruit and chocolate flavours with finely balanced French oak complexity. Spinifex Bete Noir Shiraz has a potent herb infused fruit on attack. Spiced red plum, cherry and sage flavours with a saline edge are carried on mid-weight frame of strong black tea-like tannin. Barossa Shiraz with even temper - displays fleshy, dark and generous fruit measured by ripe acids and drying tannin.

Sourced from premium vineyards within the Barossa valley, this wine is a luxury expression of Pepperjacks iconic shiraz. Matured for eighteen months, this wine can be enjoyed now but will continue to develop complexity with careful cellaring.

In 1847, the people of Krondorf began a wine industry that helped lay the foundation for what the Barossa is today. As custodians of this legacy, their winemakers craft modern expressions of signature Barossa varietals. Given some time and a nice decant and this single vineyard Shiraz will open up wonderfully.
