Winemaker Fernando Domingo matured the wine in American oak barrels for four months – just enough to flatter the fruit with gentle toasty spice and hints of vanilla, while letting plenty of exuberant, youthful, fruit character shine through. A delight on its own, this wine is spot on with garlic chicken, lamb chops with rosemary or a selection of tapas.

Our Tempranillo grapes are grown on our vineyard in Markwood and the 2019 vintage has proven to be an excellent year for the Spanish varietal. Classic savoury Tempranillo characteristics with cherry and raspberry notes make for an excellent food wine.

Badiola is a winery in the heart of Rioja Alavesa. Founded in 2018 by acquiring an existing winery, Badiola offers village and single vineyard wines that display the freshness, elegance and depth of flavours which distinguish Rioja Alavesa. This wine is made from the highest quality, selected Viura grapes from small, old, hilltop vineyard parcels (Parcelas) on limestone soils. Subtle but intriguing on the nose and juicy and refreshing on the palate the Las Parcelas Blanco is a delightfully delicate dry white wine.

Marqués de Riscal Próximo is a new addition to the Marqués range and is a bright and fruit driven Rioja style sourced from slightly younger Tempranillo vines. Very strict parcel selection along with traditional picking techniques, this Rioja is bursting with dark blackberry fruit with notes of rich, ripe plums. Hints of liquorice and star anise also give the wine a superb backbone that is perfectly suited many Mediterranean cuisines.
