Evans & Tate is arguable the most famous name in Western Australia wine, and now the Tate name has been re-born in the Franklin Tate Estates wines made by esteemed winemaker, Rory Clifton-Parks. Franklin Tate himself has sought out the finest vineyard sites in the Margaret River region to deliver superb, terroir driven, wines that showcase the tradition and longevity of the Tate name, but also a modern and innovative wine-making approach. The Chardonnay was one third fermented in fine French Oak barriques delivery a soft and creamy mouthfeel, yet still with varietal lift and fine acid balance.

A well structured wine offering both elegance and generosity of flavour. Stone fruits mingled with toasted nuts provide a complex array of flavours over a core citrus backbone.

The Tate family are one of the most famous wine names in Western Australia, especially in Margaret River. Franklin, son of John, has sourced some of the most prestigious vineyard sites in Margaret River and has highly regarded winemaker Rory Clifton-Parks to handcraft the quality wines. The Semillon Sauvignon Blanc is a traditional Margaret River blend that displays characters of lifted lemon and a hint of cut grass. The palate is refreshing and cleansing with a lovely crisp finish.

Vasse Felix Classic Dry White contains flavours of gooseberries that dominate the aroma of this blend with hints of stone fruit and perfume in the background. Fresh and lively with lovely texture and good length of flavour it is ideal summer drinking.

Only the finest fruit from the very best vineyards available to Franklin Tate Estates make their way into the Alexanders Vineyard range. Named after the patriarch of the Tate family, the Alexanders Vineyard Chardonnay is sourced from the heart of Margaret River and was chosen due to Chardonnay's love and suitability to the region. Rich and complex buttered notes are blended together with a citrus precision that permeates the entire palate. A brilliant example of premium Margaret River Chardonnay.

Fresh, pungent and layered wine by Evans & Tate. Gooseberry, lime leaf, melon and lychee with a regional grassy lift. Behind this sits subtle notes of custard apple, toast and spice from a touch of wild barrel fermentation. The Semillon Sauvignon Blanc style continues onto the palate which is fleshy, long and fresh.

Devil's Lair is one of Margaret River's most respected wineries. This superbly structured Chardonnay displays lingering flavours influenced by top quality French oak; a beautiful textured mouth feel and tight acidity.

The citrus rind and grapefuit lead the palate to an overall fine yet textural journey. Cape Mentelle Chardonnay had this distinctive minerally line too, apparent with focussed refreshing acidity. Faint nuancesof soft nougat and cashews also add to what is a harmonious balance and an elegant and length finish.

Choosy Beggars rarely go for run-of-the-mill and try to avoid boring. True to their spirit, Choosy Beggars wines have huge personality, and are undoubtedly something out of the box. The Sauvignon Blanc Semillon, sourced from some of Margaret Rivers finest vineyards is fresh with wonderful flavours of intense passionfruit and citrus.

Margaret River is a world renowned Chardonnay producing region and Pierro can rightfully stake a claim as to why. Incredibly complex, it is a tangle of fine-boned acid, lees complexity, pristine fruit and the most detailed use of good quality oak. Extremely enjoyable now, but will benefit from short to medium term cellaring.
