Hurley Vineyard Garamond Pinot Noir
Tricia Byrnes and Kevin Bell from Hurley first planted vines at their Balnarring property in 1998 with the sole intention of creating three single vineyard pinot noirs. Their philosophy centres around respect of the environment as they see their most important role is viticulture. Briary flavours of raspberries, red and black currents and sage oscillate in the mouth, expressing the pure truth of this vineyard in this vintage. Well structured, generous and creamy. Judicious oak. Very layered with drying tannins giving way to a commanding finish of flaring red fruits and energetic acidity. In a word, complex.
Freycinet Pinot Noir
Tightly structured and made for the long haul. Freycinet Pinot Noir has the classic dark cherries and forest berries aroma with balanced acidity on the palate.
Domaine A Pinot Noir
Lovely blood plum & strawberry notes with hints of aged beef.
Bannockburn Serre Pinot Noir
Put simply, this is the finest Pinot Noir from the finest producer in arguably the finest region for production in Australia. A wine of incredible depth, concentraion, texture and length. If you love Pinot Noir, you simply must try this stunning wine.
Bass Phillip Estate Pinot Noir
A complex wine with superb fruit intensity and structure, Bass Phillips Estate Pinot Noir displays vibrant red berry fruit and layers of earthy, minerally complexity that unfurl and evolve over time.
Cloudy Bay Te Wahi Pinot Noir
Domaine Albert Morot Beaune 1er Cru Les Toussaints
This is more aromatically complex than the Cents Vignes with its well-layered nose of red and dark berries, violets, plum, earth, spice and discreet game nuances. This also displays a relatively refined mouth feel as the plump and rounded medium-bodied flavors are delicious and a bit more concentrated as well before terminating in a slightly dry finish that cuts the persistence short. I would advise drinking this young for its fruit. 88/2018+
Bass Phillip Wines Estate Pinot Noir
A complex wine with superb fruit intensity and structure, Bass Phillips Estate Pinot Noir displays vibrant red berry fruit and layers of earthy, minerally complexity that unfurl and evolve over time. The biodynamically managed Estate vineyard is close-planted to 8,500 vines/hectare and cropped at a low one tonne/acre. Soils in the area are free-draining and mineral rich which can encourage high vigour. This, coupled with the regions high rainfall, can lead to disease pressure; therefore, careful management of the canopy is essential. Owner/winemaker Phillip Jones meticulous management of the vineyard ensures the Estate Pinot Noir consistently expresses enchanting fruit purity, multi-layered complexity and a sense of place unlike any other in Australia.
