Rockbare has only been making wine since 2000, but the results have been impressive and this wine was the highest scoring Shiraz in the Tasting Panel in 2018. In the glass: Inky dense red to black.On the nose: Super-ripe black cherry cola with amazing spice, cedar, vanilla and nutmeg. On the palate: Massive, densely-packed, perfectly ripe black fruits producing a flavour-saturated fruit package over phenomenal inky tannins.

d'Arenberg The Footbolt Shiraz is a firm favourite with many McLaren Vale Shiraz lovers and for good reason. Corrina Wright is now the winemaking brain behind this progressive winery and her Shiraz is a modern masterstroke. Smoke and bacon on the nose with sweet and savoury tones. Soft fruit flavours luscious mouth feel and great length to this wine. Delicious.

Church Block first appeared back in 1972 under the watchful eye of Greg Trott and was taken by one of the original vineyards that ran alongside the small Bethany Church, across the road from Wirra Wirra's old ironstone cellars. Over the last 4 decades, it has become one of Australia's favourites. The 2005 Church Block is showing just what a little patience can do. After six years, the velvet texture is the dominant feature with integrated tannin taking a backseat.
