Dulong Reserve Saint Emilion

This red from France is a great introduction to Bordeaux without the expensive price tag. A deep purple colour with hint of spice and vegetal aromas. The palate is supple and round with notes of plum, leather and spice with a rich, persistent finish.

Chateau Bourdieu No.1 Blaye Côtes de Bordeaux

There is an element of grandiosity stitched into the wines of Chateau Bourdieu, a sprawling vineyard on the banks of the Gironde in Bordeaux. The level of complexity that makes its way into each bottle is simply stunning. Every mouthful, every roll or swish of the glass brings a new layer, a new edge, a new compartment to be opened and discovered. What is immediately apparent is the abundance and the quality of the fruit. Ripe plum, dark cherry, blackcurrant, tart raspberry. That fruit is wrapped in a savoury pouch of leather, cedar, capsicum, blackcurrant leaf, and - classic for Bordeaux - dried tobacco. We reckon this is a ‘drink a few, save a few’ type wine. Even though it looks great now (which is a criminal understatement), it’s going to look oh-so-special with a decade of quiet contemplation under its belt.

Chateau La Gurgue

Clos La Coutale

Chapelle de Potensac Medoc

The second wine of "crowd favourite", Chateau Potensac, Chapelle de Potensac was created and first sold by Jean-Hubert Delon with the 2002 vintage. This elegant, traditionally made second wine possesses beautiful balance founded on smoothness and freshness. Its terroir of fine gravel and clay sands can be found in various parts of Potensac's historical terroir, on the edge of the village. The 2016 vintage consisting of Merlot 75 %, Cabernet Sauvignon 17 % and Cabernet Franc 8 %, has been widely acclaimed by critics for its fragrant, lifted, fresh fruit qualities and approachability.

Château Chantermerle Médoc

This wine displays a sustained and brilliant colour of great depth. The nose has already evolved and shows blackcurrant and other black fruit aromas. On the palate tannins are soft and smooth, with a steady balance and a long, fresh finish. Aromas of fruit, tobacco and liquorice harmoniously blend with those from the oak, giving rise to flavours which coat the palate without roughness. Overall a tender wine which has passed through a spirited youth to reveal the elegance typical of Chantemerle's terroir.

Chateau de Lionne Graves de Lionne

The wine presents a red ruby hue with hints of crimson. It opens with a bouquet of fresh red fruits and spices. On the palate, it is well-balanced and robust, with noticeable tannins. Château de Lionne is certified HEV 3 (High Environmental Value), which allows them to recognize and highlight their less conventional and more environmentally friendly viticulture. Pairs well with lamb, beef, red and white meat in sauce and cheese. Serve at 16-18°C.

Calvet Grande Reserve Bordeaux
