This is fun winemaking at it best. A little soak of the juice on skins, a press in the basket press and let the ferment get going. The ferment was stopped by fortification with Brandy Spirit to leave a sweat’ish wine that is now stored in ex Australian Whisky barrels. The wine will continue to evolve the barrel developing complexity from the wood and previous contents. Best fresh from the barrel, it is bottled as required. Each label has the date of bottling hand written on it. This is a single vintage fortified.

Big oak, really good spice, is evident on the nose. The palate is big, loads of oak again, and really nice acidity on the finish. For lovers of big, oaky Chardonnay.

Brown Brothers are well known for their quality sweet style wines and create the ever popular Crouchen Riesling that exhibits aromas of white peach, pear, even a little lychee. On the palate there is abundant sweet fruit with generous length provided by residual sugar and soft acidity.

The grapes for the Winton Road Riesling are carefully harvested from selected older vineyards in the Barossa and Eden Valley. The Barossa winemaking history dates back to the 1840s with Riesling wines being brought to the region by the German and Silesian settlers. These low yielding Riesling vines give structure to the palate while maintaining its refreshing acidity and complementing the fruit and floral characters in the wine. A bright lemon colour with aromas of apple blossom, mandarin zest and wet stone. A structured Riesling with great intensity. The orchard fruit and citrus characters are balanced by a refreshing acidity and chalky minerality. The finish is bright, pure, and long. Awarded Silver at the Critics Wine Challenge 2024.

This is a jazzy, fresh and vibrant wine with lifted aromas of strawberries and raspberries. Enjoy chilled.

Jim Barry Watervale Riesling from the Clare Valley is all about the musk, bracing acidity and juicy limes. Petaluma Riesling is one of Australia's finest examples of this noble variety. Pale straw in colour the palate exhibits lemon and grapefuit flavours matched by some fresh and racy acidity. Sourced from the home of great Australian Riesling, this trademark Clare Valley aromatic white is wonderful when opened upon release and like all great Rieslings, will develop brilliant toasty characters over a 10 year period in the bottle.

Conceived as a white wine development program, the Bin 51 Riesling soon became one of Penfolds' star performers. Eden Valley is an obvious choice of region for Riesling due to the higher altitude and cool climate. The wine offers delicate aromas of fresh cut apples and pears with a twist of lemon and minerality towards the end. A great deal of fruits and acidity makes for an interesting white wine with propensity to age gracefully if carefully cellared.

This wine from Vickery displays hallmark Watervale aromas showing pure Riesling characteristics of fresh lemon-lime citrus, floral honeysuckle and a creamy richness. The flavours are fresh lemon citrus, with soft mineral acidity supported by the persistent and mouth-watering finish. An absolute delight to drink in its first flush of youth, but will intrigue and reward with additional complexity upon cellaring for 5-20 years.
