Le Chat Noir is a range of modern French wines created by Vincent Charleux. Inspired by the humble village bistro that is at the heart of French culture and cuisine, the Le Chat Noir wines are generous and approachable. The wines are sourced from the Aude Valley, located in the foothills of the Pyrenees south of the famed walled hillside town of Carcassonne. Rising to an altitude of 450 metres, the terraced, low yielding vineyards are cooled by refreshing winds and chilly nights, creating elegant and varietally expressive wines like this Pinot noir.

New Zealand is proving to be a star performer when it comes to Pinot Noir. This is a fruit driven style exhibiting juicy cherry and strawberry fruit combined with subtle oak. The finish is smooth and soft.

Josef Chromy Pinot Noir has a richness and wholeness that demands attention. Supple tannins with leather and secondary characters abound. A velvety Burgundian style Pinot Noir, with aromas of red fruits and sweet spice with a full rounded palate of rich dark cherry fruit and a balanced blend of toasty oak.

Oakdene Petas Pinot Noir is garnet in colour, with an intense bouquet of cherry, spice, mocha and smoked meats, leading to sweet cherry, briar and hints of clove. The mid palate offers earthy cherry, plum notes, and some spice and whole bunch characters, firm tannins and a long finish. 15% whole bunches, wild yeast and matured in French oak puncheons (30% new) for 11 months bottled without fining and light filtration. Sandro Mosele's Kooyong Massale Pinot Noir has gamey, wild berry and forest floor aromas offer richness and complexity on the nose. Sappy, sour cherry flavours with well judged oak are framed by silky tannins and bright acidity. Outstanding!

Artemis Close Vine is bright strawberry red in colour, showing an intense and complex nose of ripe blueberry, raspberry, cherry, toffee apple, forest floor, cut straw, savoury and vanilla notes. The rich yet elegant wine has a cherry and raspberry palate, grainy tannin, fresh medium acidity with superb premium oak integration. The palate shows some dark berry nuances and secondary savoury characters. The finish of this Pinot Noir is elegant and long.
