The renowned quality of Coonawarra is a product of its thin rocky soils and underlying soft crumbly limestone which naturally produces balanced vine canopies and small crops of intensely flavoured fruit. Displaying delicate black and red fruits with lifted spice and floral notes. A finely structured Cabernet that will gain further complexity with cellaring.

This wine is classic Coonawarra in style with ripe berry and cassis aromas and flavours layered over fine tannins. Cabernet is the major component and backbone with Merlot adding softness and drinkability.

Brands Laira is an iconic winery, nestled in the heart of the famed terra rossa strip of the Coonawarra region in South Australia. Steeped in heritage, the Laira Vineyard was planted back in 1893 and is one of the oldest working blocks in the region. The aroma is complex and intense, showing lifted green capsicum, perfume, chocolate, savoury meats and menthol. It has a lovely, balanced palate with fine grippy tannin, fleshy fruit texture and lots of up front flavour. As this wine spends time in the bottle, more complex fruit and developed character will reveal itself from behind the robust structure.

The Smith & Hooper Cabernet Merlot is a harmonious blend of Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot displaying aromas of red berries, eucalypt and a hint of vanilla. Flavours of mulberries, cherry and blackcurrants fill out the smoothly textured palate.

deep ruby colour and vibrant aromas of blackcurrant, cassis and mint, layered with hints of black olive, cedar and subtle tobacco from well-integrated oak. The palate is medium-to-full bodied and refined, with ripe dark berry fruit supported by elegant, structured tannins and savoury spice nuances. Produced from 30 year old vines situated in the southern end of the Barossa Valley the Cameron Vale Cabernet shows pronounced mint and blackcurrant flavours. Cellar for 3 - 5 years.

Varietal aromas of mint and cassis are well matched with subtle vanillin oak on the nose. The palate is supple and smooth the blackcurrant flavours framed by fine ripe tannins. Try it with roast lamb.

A concentrated wine with the expected regional characteristics of mint leaves and ripe dark forest berries on the nose.
