FEIRE Blanc de Blancs Methode Traditionelle sparkling white
The 2019 (Feire) Blanc De Blancs Sparkling was made using an intricate process called Méthode Traditionnelle—the same time-honored approach used to make French Champagne. The Chardonnay fruit was picked early and sourced from the cool climate of Eden Valley, a high altitude sub-region in the Barossa. The freshly pressed juice is immediately settled and cold fermented in stainless steel. The base wine is tiraged and yeast is introduced into the bottle with sugar for a sec ondary fermentation under pressure (which creates the fine bead of bubbles). This wine was ‘En Tirage’ for three years where the secondary characters developed in the wine. It was hand-riddled in 2022 and disgorged in December the same year. The wine is ready to drink, but it will age gracefully for approximately 5 years. This Chardonnay cuvee is the epitome of finesse and elegance. (Colour) Medium straw (Nose) Freshly baked bread with grapefruit and white musk top-notes and mineral undertones (Palate) The Chardonnay grapes are picked early, when sugar levels are lower and acid levels are higher achieving balance and a crisp, flinty taste, on the palate. Since it is a vintage wine that has been aged on lees the complexity of flavours include lemon cream, honey, almond and toast - an impressive flavour profile whilst retain ing freshness and vibrant bubbles. The consistent fine bead is also noteworthy re sulting in a special offering and well beyond your standard Australian sparkling wine. Heggies Riesling
The Heggies vineyard situated in the hills above the Barossa Valley produces tightly structured classic Rieslings which can be appreciated young or cellared to achieve richer, complex flavours.
Krondorf Chardonnay
Krondorf is a Barossa wine name that is steeped in history and tradition. Beginning with the establishment of the Glenview winery back in 1850s, the Krondorf name was re-born by Grant Burge back in 1978 and today is one of the most successful wineries on the wine show circuit winning countless trophies and gold medals in the past 10 years. This Chardonnay is a bright straw colour with hints of golden yellow, while on the nose aromas of melon and citrus typical of the varietal are present. The long and persistent palate is wonderfully textured and a great match for some smoked trout.
Eden Hall Reserve Riesling
Eden Hall Reserve Riesling made from fruit from select rows in block 8 with a south western aspect. It is pale straw yellow showing a lifted, perfumed floral nose with hints of lavender. Steely minerality on the palate with more lemon than lime. A tight, single minded classic Eden Valley Rizza of impecable pedigree smugly basking in its understated nobility.
St John's Road Peace of Eden Riesling
The peace and tranquillity of Eden Valley's cool climate is ideally suited to yielding clean, pure and fresh flavours of Riesling. Minimal intervention is used during the wine making process, allowing the true characteristics of each vintage and the vines to speak for itself. Clean, crisp chiselled fruit with a long dry finish make the St John's Road Peace of Eden Riesling a wonderfully elegant wine, ideally for immediate drinking but will cellar up to medium term.
Penfolds Bin 51 Eden Valley Riesling
Penfolds began releasing the Bin 51 Riesling in the 1990s as part of the evolving white wine development program. The Eden Valley was chosen as the region for this Riesling due to the high altitude and cool climate that results in wines of intense aromatics and superb textural mouth feel. Flavours of apples, pears and bright citrus are commonplace. The Bin 51 has also shown a great propensity to age in the bottle extremely well.
Rolf Binder Riesling
Pale straw in colour, Christas Riesling is quite perfumed, with highlights of the inevitable lemon and lime indicative of this varietal. Expresses lovely rose floral & candied musk on the nose. Good acidity lifts the crisp, fresh palate.
Heggies Above 500m Chardonnay
Heggies Above 500m Chardonnay shows fresh aromas of citrus zest, quince and white flowers, with an underlying hint of spicy oak. A zesty and lively palate, with ripe quince and stone fruit flavours, balanced by a crisp acidity which drives the palate length. Subtle nuances of fine French oak complement the fresh varietal expression.
