George Wyndham was one of the founding fathers of the Australian wine industry after planting the first commercial vineyard in 1830. Wine like this Cabernet Merlot pay tribute to George with its rich blackcurrant and cassis flavours, complemented by plum flavours and soft tannins. Especially when the sourcing here is premium all the way; the estate vineyards near Bendigo, plus top tier vineyards in Heathcote, the Pyrenees and Grampians regions. With all portions destined for far higher priced wines, this is a scoop to dive on. Cascading black and purple fruits, plush and silky from start to finish, all wrapped in lovely length and structure. Sensational!

Cleanskin #63 Coonawarra Cabernet follows the remarkable trend of our Cleanskins being far too good for the price on offer. Good varietal Cabernet with flavours of cassis, mint and baked blackcurrant. Varietal Cabernet Sauvignon from the icon region for the variety does come around often. Get in!

A soft and generous Langhorne Creek red with supple ripe fruit and a hint of chocolate and sweet vanillin oak - fantastic value!

Coffee-mocha and dark berry nose, good gentle tannins frame flavoursome generous fruit flavours. An excellent wine at this price.

Church Block first appeared back in 1972 under the watchful eye of Greg Trott and was taken by one of the original vineyards that ran alongside the small Bethany Church, across the road from Wirra Wirra's old ironstone cellars. Over the last 4 decades, it has become one of Australia's favourites. The 2005 Church Block is showing just what a little patience can do. After six years, the velvet texture is the dominant feature with integrated tannin taking a backseat.

Dark Crimson with bright red hues, a varietal nose of blackberries, currants and bright red fruits with hints of tea leaf. The palate is well structured and balanced with ripe blackberry fruits, plum and tarry flavours, with integrated tannins and a fruit filled lingering finish.

In the glass: Full deep red. On the nose: Delicate redcurrant, plum, cedar and a light leafy lift. On the palate: Textured with a medium weight core of dark fruit, elegant line and touches of coffee, cherry and savoury oak.
