Brightwater is from a tiny family estate our Buyer first visited in 2002, having noticed that famous Aussie wine writer James Halliday had reviewed their Sauvignon above Cloudy Bay. Their 2009 was also rated as 5 Stars by top Kiwi wine critic Bob Campbell MW. A classic match with goat's cheese, it's also just the ticket with seafood, especially oysters. New Zealand’s riches have always been as equally worthy of protecting as they have been of sharing. This Sauvignon Blanc from the Marlborough region is no exception. This wine has lifted fresh tropical and herbal aromas. A full-flavoured, well balanced wine with juicy tropical flavours and crunchy acidity on the palate. Enjoy now with fresh oysters!

Nose: subtle blend of pear, white peach, honeysuckle and lychee. Palate: gentle and soft mouth feel with medium intensity mid palate tending tropical which reflects the warm growing season. Low sugar, but a fruit- sweet balance point: the acidity is subtle and the wine dry. Expresses a fruit sweetness and generosity throughout the palate, starting out with hints of nectarine, peach and undertones of honey with a clean, dry, yet smooth finish. Winemaker’s Notes: Small parcels of Pinot Gris were fermented separately using a variety of yeasts, with fruit taken from a number of vineyard sites throughout Marlborough. Pressings were fermented in oak and kept separate from the free run which was tank fermented. We assembled the wine with the primary goal of balance given the subtle nature of Pinot Gris and the accentuation of primary clean fruit character, which is typically pears and light citrus. Winemaking Philosophy: all our growers are certified sustainable, with viticulturists bent on an organic and natural approach where possible. Dovetailing that nicely are our winemakers’ low intervention approach to their crafting of the grapes.

This Sauvignon Blanc is bright and expressive, with aromas of lime, gooseberry and passionfruit, alongside hints of lemongrass and fresh herbs. The palate is dry and lively, showing flavours of green apple, lime zest and tropical citrus. A subtle lees influence adds softness to the texture, while crisp acidity and a mineral edge give the wine a long, refreshing finish.

Dillons Point is renowned for producing Sauvignon Blancs with tropical fruit notes and passion fruit to the fore. There are hints of blackcurrant and grapefruit too. The palate is rich, bright and zesty with a slight briny tang. This wine has real intensity of fruit, with a lovely crisp, mineral finish.
