The story of Sol goes back to 1899, when on a sunny morning in Mexico, a brew master was working away. The early morning sun crept over his brew pot, caught in the majesty of the moment he was inspired to name his brew 'El Sol' - the sun in Mexican. Since that day Sol has been a beer for the working class, a beer of the people.

A German style Pilsner, Trumer Pils is characterized by a distinct hops flavour, high carbonation and light body. A combination of Saaz and Austrian hops, malt mashing process and proprietary yeast make Trumer Pils unique among beers.

Newcastle Brown Ale features fewer hops for a less bitter taste, a blend of light and dark malts for a unique and smooth flavour. The golden brown color is the result of combining two seemingly incompatible malts- English Pale and Dark Caramel.

A high proportion of Crystal malt in Old Speckled Hen provides the key toffee/caramel flavour. The yeast used to ferment the beer provides the other key character - estery or banana/pear drop. Launched in 2013 and now a regular bottling, this unusual release from the prodigious Swedish distillery is slightly smoky - hence the name "Svensk Rök", meaning "Swedish Smoke". Matured for an undisclosed period in a mix of 30-128 litre casks ranging from American oak, Swedish oak and ex-bourbon saturated with Oloroso, around 70% is peated. One of the tastiest expressions in the Mackmyra line up, Svensk Rok is also one of the best values, boasting melt-in-your-mouth flavours of salted citrus and vanilla along with all the sweet'n'smokey notes you'd expect, but with a twist: Mackmyra employ juniper branches to dry some of the malt, which makes sense, as juniper has been used to season food in Sweden for generations. It comes through at the finish as hints of menthol tobacco, smouldering potpourri and pine. The result is a distinctive local take on Scottish peated styles that really works. 46.1% Alc./Vol.
