A delicious, structured, complex attack, followed by a very fruity finish accompanied by vanilla notes.

Thanks to the presence of the reserve wines in the blend you begin to find warm praline flavours and toasted, grilled notes, gingerbread, almond, hazelnut balanced by fruit notes of peach and ripe apricots. The freshness on the palate comes from the Chardonnay in the blend and this also brings elegance to the finished wine.

Champagne Duperrey is fresh and full flavoured with a crisp dry finish. It shows fine balance between the elegance of the Chardonnay, and the roundness and fruitiness of the Pinot Noir. The arrival of the late great Daniel Thibault transformed Piper-Heidsieck beyond recognition. The style is now fuller and rounder with elegance and charm. The cepage is an equal blend of all 3 varieties and shows good balance and length. The wine is a fresh aperitif style which is much finer than is often given credit for.
