Cosme Palacio Cosecha Rioja
Upon much deliberation, our overall masked winner revealed a style and character that provided us with a fairly clear cut insight into the modern day advances of a region etched in history and tradition. Cosme Palacio consistently produces one of our favourite Riojas that always offers incredible value for money. Produced predominantly from Tempranillo grown in cool, relatively high altitude sites, this is modern Rioja that's bright and ready to go thanks to a touch of bottle age. It's medium bodied with fine tannins and juicy in the mouth. Black fruits dominate the flavour profile with some delicate cedar and earthy notes adding complexity to a delicious example from this much loved region.
Running With Bulls Barossa Garnacha
Pouring a gorgeous raspberry hue with aromas of fresh coriander and grated nutmeg. Silky in texture with a juicy palate comprising strawberries and blood orange. Partial whole bunch fermented delivering a subtle amount of warming spice to finish. Sam Wigan started out in the wine industry by working a vintage with his father at Peter Lehmann wines before heading to Geyser Peak in California. Returning to Australia with the winemaking bug, Sams style involves letting the varietal characteristics of the grapes shine through, by using natural/wild fermentation and malolactic fermentation, with minimal additions and no finings. Having a nice meal with friends and family is one of his favourite things, so he crafts the wines to be fun, drinkable and best enjoyed with food and good company. Perfect for immediate drinking, especially with your next BBQ. Born and raised in the Barossa, Daniel started at the Penfolds cellar door, eventually co-founding a wine consultancy. Chaffey Bros. was born from Daniels dream to revive the name and the innovation of his great-great grandfather and his brother the original Chaffey brothers who founded Mildura in 1887. Together with his brother-in-law Theo Engela they now form the new iteration of Chaffey Bros. They love telling stories, and each of their wine labels reveals details about the vineyard, variety, region or history.
Haselgrove Alternative Series Grenache Rose
The Alternate Series A new exciting range of small batch wines for Haselgrove. Showcasing McLaren Vales Mediterranean climate and the emerging varieties that excel in the region. The Grenache Rose & Fiano will be joined by a Montepulciano. Brilliant pale salmon in colour. Lifted bright fresh fruit notes, summer berries, aromatic rose blossom and delicate hints of blood orange. The palate demonstrates all of the hallmarks of what one of McLaren Vales champion varieties can do as a Rose. Strawberries and cream, Turkish delight and bright red berries balance with a bone dry, crisp, moreish acidity and a textural citrus pith finish. We challenge you to stop at only one glass!

An incredible Spanish Wine from Ribera del Duero, the Burgundy of Spain.Made with 100% "Tinto Fino" grapes and matured for 6 months in French Oak barrels. This wine is made with grapes from single estate vineyards with following a criteria of ecological production.Once in the cellar, the grapes in 16 kg crates go to the table where they are selected and chosen, separating any cluster that does not meet the stringent criteria of maturity, health and cleanliness.The destemming is done directly over each tank, so the grapes arrive intact to the fermentation vessel where the maceration is performed. Even the yeasts for alcoholic fermentation and malolactic fermentation bacteria are indigenous, existing naturally in the skins of the grapes themselves. As a result the wine transfer the same ecological character getting the title of Ecological Wine.In the nose you find a very well structured wine with some creamy and toasted barrel aging touches. In your mouth wait for a smooth entry with ripe velvety tannins. Long, elegant, fresh and very well balanced across palate.This is a great wine that definitely is worth to try. The best Vintage in 2011 got a stunning score of 91 points in 'Wine Spectator' and since then this wine earned a prestigious position in Ribera del Duero as a high quality wine..
Hither & Yon Carignan
One of the very few examples of Carignan produced in Australia. This is the first release of this wine from Hither & Yon and it's really approachable already.Bright purple in the glass. Perfumed nose of black cherry, plum and black pepper. Light to medium weight with a fresh core of fleshy black fruits and tart red berries with good balance of acid and tannin crunch. An excellent young-drinker.
