On the palate the wine is taut and youthful with tannins and acidity driving the texture then wood spices and a core of ripe fruits and a light savoury dried herb quality. A wine that simply needs more time to bring together all the attributes and meld. Length finish, well made and ready to drink from late 2024

The red berry fruit flavours combine with wild thyme and rich savoury notes, and are supported by the beautifully poised tannins that give depth to the long mouth-watering finish. This wine by Burn Cottage Vineyard needs a few years to marry all of its elements. Cellaring for up to 8-10 years.

Felton Road really is a fine winemaker. This is its regular bottling and what a wine, with lush, dark cherry and mysterious foresty aromas. It's very ripe and rich and the palate has intensity and drive, with fresh acidity keeping it all singing.

Central Otago Pinot's are generally more user-friendly than Burgundy; Rabbit Ranch is very soft fruit-forward style with soft tannins; best enjoyed young.

Burn Cottage Vineyard Moonlight Race Pinot Noir. A myriad of mulberry, wild thyme and enticing savoury undertones are interwoven with layers of ripe summer berries. The palate displays both generosity and restraint, with plump and supple tannins that are supported by an amalgam of summer ripened plums, dark cherry and a freshness reminiscent of ripe red fruits. The finish is long, the wine showing lovely fruit purity and definition.

The Amen Break Chinamans Terrace Central Otago NZ Pinot Noir has a wonderful dense deep red colour. romatics of red plum, black cherry and bunch-ý-derived Campari are pure and intense. The palate is a revelation - dense but bright, concentrated and with space. Pure Pinot Noir flavours are wrapped in fine filigreed tannins, which are layered and add many levels of complexity. A vibrant, vineyard derived wine, free of winemaking artifact and rich in authenticity.

The Last Chance is a beautifully sited small terrace perched above the Earnscleugh Valley, carefully planted with well-tended Burgundian clone pinot noir. It is one of a small cluster of the worlds most southerly vineyards and takes its name from the watercourse that runs through its heart, hand-dug by gold miners in the 1860s The Last Chance. The soils are raw schist gravels. The Last Chance Pinot Noir is hand picked and sorted in the vineyard. One-third whole-bunch natural fermentation in a 3.5 tonne wooden vat. Five-day cold soak. Post fermentation transferred to medium and light toast French barriques for 11 months maturation. One-third new wood and the balance in second and third fill barrels. Light filtration prior to bottling. The Lasdt Chance Pinot Noir typically shows thyme, wild flower, red fruit and spiciness on the nose leading to a complex palate showing great coverage, elegance and length.
