It’s no surprise this style won Gold. The Barry Family are legends in the Clare Valley, and have used their rich soils and expert skills to produce this truly stunning 100% malbec. Aromas of violets, redcurrants, maraschino cherries and lavender flood the nose. The flavours are plentiful with blueberries, liquorice, violets, dark chocolate and black tea. The wine is full of energy and juicy fruit supported by fine gravelly tannins and fresh cranberry juice acidity. This 100% Malbec shows the potential of the variety to stand on its own and produce a delicious wine with vibrancy and elegance. The first vineyard that my grandfather, Jim Barry, planted in 1964 at our Armagh property was Malbec (900 vines). Since that time, Malbec has played an important part in our winemaking journey and is predominantly blended with Cabernet Sauvignon. Dark and intensely hued, this Cabernet shows impressive depth in the glass. Aromas of ripe blackcurrant and red plum rise from the glass, intertwined with hints of blueberry, dried tobacco leaf and a touch of warm spice.

Sangiovese has been gaining popularity and importance in the Australian wine scene as a replacement to traditional varieties not only for its versatility. but also for its excellent adaptability to our local growing conditions. It finds in Clare Valley some of the best terroir in the country and this first release of the Tim Adams Sangiovese is the result of years of experimentation by the winemaking team and extensive tastings of great examples from its homeland in central Italy. This medium bodied wine is packed with crunchy wild berries. cranberry compote and savoury notes of dried herbs and spicy oak. All supported by a refreshing acidity and firm but fine tannins typical of Sangiovese that gives it length and persistence on the palate.

Classic Margaret River nose of cassis, mulberries and capsicum. Fermentation and development in French and American oak, gives this wine a delicious mouthful of sweet fruit with notes of chocolate, cedar and plums.

This pleasingly rich and unusual blend of Grenache and Cabernet Franc from the Clare Valley offers a bouquet of ripe cherries and plums. The palate shows spicy fruit flavour and soft tannins.

Crisp lively drinking from this respected producer with the grassy Sauvignon Blanc character balancing the fuller Semillon flavours. Bottled under screwcap to retain freshness.

The Jim Barry McCrae Wood is a fine example of the bold Clare Valley Shiraz style. Intense and concentrated, it is well worth putting away for five years at least!

Established in 1982 and run by second generation Ed Tomlinson, this fruit driven, medium bodied wine has notes of ripe black fruits and finishes with perfect length and a wonderful texture.

The dark crimson hued Mitchell Sevenhill Cabernet Sauvignon exudes classic Clare Valley characteristics and flavours. The nose is strong with berry aromas as well as hints of dusty new French oak scents. This is an elegant, powerful and full flavoured wine with firm tannins that could develop even more after 5 to 10 years of cellaring. It is a wonderful accompaniment to beef and venison.
