Stoneleigh Latitude Sauvignon Blanc
This wine exhibits aromas of fresh citrus blossom, pineapple, passionfruit and hints of melon. This follows through to a weighty palate with Honeydew melon, grapefruit and nuances of lime zest. This wine has a natural weight and concentration that lingers on the palate before finishing with a crisp citrus twist. The son of farmers, Jamie found that making wine was a superior choice to farming sheep. In Marlborough, the small New Zealand region, the industry literally grew up around him. At Stoneleigh, the philosophy is less is more. Its about making sure everything they do has a purpose, not simply following tradition or fads. This minimal intervention style of winemaking invites golden moments that come together to let the wines and vines tell their own story. - Jamie Marfell, Chief Winemaker. Beachwood Marlborough Sauvignon Blanc
Atop the ridge, Beachwood fruit is removed from the coldest nights, and benefits from the slightly breezier summer days. This brings out the tropical, slightly minerally notes in the fruit, and herby aromatics. Colour: Button grass green/ pale yellow. Nose: Aromatic, herby, nettles and white peach. Palate: Exploding fruit, zesty and refreshing. Classic Marlborough characters of peach, melon, a hint of passionfruit, and a lively acid balance clean finish.Food Match: Works really well with creamy sauces, and dips with flavours of garlic or artichoke. Perfect to take to your favourite Thai BYO, and balances well with a rich salad like a Caesar. Winemakers Comments: Lots of beautiful fruit to choose from this vintage. It was a big crop from the outset, so we had the luxury of reducing yield and intensifying flavours. Great vineyard management.
