Since 1992, Madfish have been producing an exciting range of contemporary, cool climate wines inspired by the wild, coastal and pure characterises of Australia's South West. The wines are made by the dedicated team led by chief winemaker Janice McDonald. The chardonnay displays bright notes of citrus blossom, peach fuzz and melon that merge beautifully with rich nuances of crème caramel, lemon curd and vanilla pod. A scattering of nutmeg and preserved pear furthers the texture and flavour on the palate.

Growing up in the Hunter Valley, he was encouraged to be adventurous, curious and hard working. It was playing rugby in many of the world’s winemaking regions, travelling and working through New Zealand, France, Spain, Portugal, US, Italy, Coonawarra, McLaren Vale and Margaret River that sparked a further love of wine. He’s now settled in Margaret River where he has the 'opportunity to work on the land and create something that speaks of its place'.

This 'dry' style features lifted notes of tropical fruit of which lychee, red apple and pineapple spring to mind. That characteristic lingering, zesty finish makes for perfect drinking with a wide variety of cuisines.

Fleshy red fruits of strawberries are apparent on the nose - this is bright, fresh and very tempting. The red fruited theme continues on the palate with savoury notes keeping the palate balanced. Cleansing acidity creates a crisp and cleansing finish. In typical Rose fashion, extremely moreish!

The Houghton Maragaret River Semillon Sauvignon Blanc is bright straw appearance with tropical aromatics of passionfruit, gooseberry and guava. The palate is fresh with vibrant lemon and lime citrus notes. Light lees adds weight and texture to the palate. Well worth seeking out.
