Intriguing aromas of rose petals and a summer pudding of lifted red fruits, berries and a hit of cinnamon and Asian spice. The palate is opulent, with intense red berries balanced by soft velvety tannins and supple oak with great balance from the acid reknown in Barossa Grenache. 'The cold, wet 2011 vintage hit the Barossa Valley particularly hard, wiping out huge tracts of vineyards. Dandelion's blend, then, came as a delightful surprise a tender, juicy, seductive drop that made the bottle seem too small. It's a blend of grenache (85 per cent), shiraz (10 per cent) and mataro (aka mourvedre or monastrell). The back label hints at how winemaker Elena Brooks and the Dandelion crew saved the day, "handpicking selected bunches" (that is, avoiding the rotten ones) of the three varieties for co-fermentation and ultimate success. Bright, deep garnet. Spice laced, smoky, savory notes dominate when the bottle is first opened. With air aromas transit through black tea, charred meat, green pepper corn, wood smoke and suede, to roasted nuts, red and black cherry and high transient notes of citrus oils and jasmine. Restrained and relatively closed on the palate initially. Mid-weight, with a keen balance of both flesh and bones fruit and structure - tangy dried herb edged fruit opens up to polished, fresh black fruits. Focused and pure, has great line.

Deep garnet in colour, displaying a mixed array of wildberry and red licorice aromas. The palate is fresh and vibrant, juicy and rounded. A very modern styled Barossa Shiraz, which is delicious drinking now that will mature well for the medium term. A variety of fermentation techniques were utilized, but all involved extended skin contact ranging from 15 to 25 days. A cold soak period of up to 6 days occurred before a natural warming to start the fermentation. Upon completion the ferments were pressed to a mix of new and seasoned oak hogsheads, for malolactic fermentation and maturation.

Sorby Adams Neptune Rings is a premium red wine range of signature Barossa grape varieties sourced from the region's finest soils. This collection honors our ancestor, John Couch Adams, who, along with fellow mathematicians, proved the existence of the planet Neptune in the 1840s. His name is immortalized in one of Neptune's five rings. Galle is another ring of Neptune and is our signature Barossa Cabernet Sauvignon wine. This wine showcases a dark, brick-red color with a magenta hue and features complex aromas of cherry and plum. On the palate, rich black cherry and plum flavours come alive, accompanied by hints of licorice and mint, all with impressive length and finesse. It has been matured in French oak hogsheads (30% new) for 24 months, using air-dried wood from Francois Frere and Taransaud Coopers. The grapes are sourced from Angaston in the Eden Valley and Ebenezer in the Barossa Valley. It is enjoyable now and has the potential to age beautifully until 2038. This wine is sealed with QORK.
