Sam Wigan started out in the wine industry by working a vintage with his father at Peter Lehmann wines before heading to Geyser Peak in California. Returning to Australia with the winemaking bug, Sams style involves letting the varietal characteristics of the grapes shine through, by using natural/wild fermentation and malolactic fermentation, with minimal additions and no finings. Having a nice meal with friends and family is one of his favourite things, so he crafts the wines to be fun, drinkable and best enjoyed with food and good company. Sourced from the higher altitude Barossa region of the Eden Valley, the wine was fully de-stemmed before fermenting on skins for a week without crushing. The result is a complex, velvet-like textured wine with overflowing characters of blueberry, blackcurrant and milk chocolate.
