Barbadillo La Cilla Pedro Ximenez

Barbadillo, an established quality Sherry producer since 1821, continue to produce some of the 'Jerez Triangle's' best examples for great prices. Proud to introduce their "reserve" level Pedro Ximenez, La Cilla, to our range, this exotic Sherry is made using sun-dried racking which emparts a luscious rainened flavour up front. On the wonderfully viscous palate, sultana flavours come to the fore with obvious notes of caramel. The wine though is beautifully balanced with sweetness that is not over the top in any way. Sacred Hill has been aged on oak and is designed for current consumption but will keep in the bottle for several years.

Cockburn's Fine Tawny Port is sourced from fruit grown in the lower Douro region that produces a lighter, more fragrant style of fortified wine. Losing a touch of its colour during maturation in oak, the tawny takes on flavours of butterscotch and a nice nuttiness. Perfect as an after-dinner dessert wine, or chilled down and served with an array of fine nuts such as almonds and walnuts.

Cockburn's Special Reserve Port

Established by Scotsman Robert Cockburn in 1815, who returned to Portugal after first visiting the country as a soldier fighting under Wellington in the Napoleonic Wars. Cockburn's vineyard holdings are some of the largest in the Douro region which gives the house valuable flexibility in selecting only the very best fruit for their ports. This Special Reserve Port is a mature off-dry style with a 'vintage character' of dried plums, walnuts and tobacco aromas and a palate that is soft and mellow with a nice, long length.

Fonseca Vintage Port

Intense black inky core and narrow purple rim. The nose opens onto a dense brooding mass of dark blackberry and blackcurrant fruit. Compact and concentrated, it also displays exceptional purity - one of the hallmarks of the 2011 vintage. The nose gradually opens to reveal an array of heady herbal scents, discreet notes of exotic wood, marzipan and plum as well as an attractive graphite minerality. Solid well integrated tannins give both volume and firmness to the palate with its reserves of dense black fruit infused with dark chocolate and liquorice.
