Juniper Estate’s Cornerstone Cabernet is a benchmark expression of Wilyabrup, crafted from vines planted on free-draining gravelly soils at the heart of Margaret River. The vineyard’s coastal influence brings cool nights and warm days, producing fruit with natural balance and structure. Each parcel is fermented separately before undergoing extended maceration to build depth and complexity. The wine then matures in French oak barriques, with a careful balance of new and seasoned barrels, allowing the character of the site to shine. Cornerstone Cabernet consistently offers aromas of blackcurrant, plum, and dried herbs, alongside subtle cedar and tobacco notes from its time in oak. The palate is defined by fine, persistent tannins and layers of dark fruit, supported by bright acidity. The Hay Shed Hill Block 2 Cabernet Sauvignon displays ripe berry aromas of brilliant intensity with underlying earthen nature along with typical characters well noted from Margaret River. There is a depth here that is hard to fault, in fact its downright breathtaking. The palate itself is quite substantial, even by Western Australian standards; displaying fully ripe, fleshy sweet fruit filling the mid palate with great palate extension driven by the ripe and mature tannin.

A deep, dark wine with serious fruit concentration. Dominant flavours of plum, cherry, and blackberry are complemented by underlyinh notes of mocha, licorice, and spice. The oak is expertly integrated, adding depth without overpowering the fruit, and the finish is marked by velvety smooth tannins.

The wines have no additions of yeast, acid or malolactic culture, and are in this sense natural wines which express the place and land on which they are grown, the vintage and the people.

Lifted cassis and tobacco aromas with some fine oak in the background make this wine very appealing. A medium to full-bodied Cabernet Sauvignon with sage notes, and fine, long tannins from both the fruit and oak on the palate. Lovely acidity and a cedar finish describe a Cabernet Sauvignon that will age for many years.
