Immensely complex and powerful, this wine is from classic old vine Shiraz from the Barossa. Dense, concentrated fruit characters of blackberry and ripe plum are knotted around delicious vanillin oak.

Old vines Shiraz grapes were used in the making of this beautifully crafted Torbreck The Struie Shiraz. With the blend of two great regions, Eden and Barossa Valley, the flavours and aromas intensified yet still worked harmoniously together. A more elegant exotic floral aromas are supported by the more brooding notes of tar and chocolate on the nose. Elderton Command Shiraz is a classic, old-vine Barossa Shiraz first made in 1984 from a single, low-yielding block planted in the 1890s on the banks of the North Para River at Nuriootpa. The vines are anchored in deep, alluvial silt over red-brown earths and limestone. Command Shiraz is typified by raspberry, blackberry, dark chocolate, meaty, aniseed aromas and flavours, pronounced chalky, firm tannin structures, plenty of mid-palate richness and underlying integrated oak. Command has won many international accolades, appearing twice in (U.S.) Wine Spectators annual Top 100 and winning the trophy for Best Shiraz in the World at the International Wine & Spirit Competition in London.

Tightly wound with its cards close to the vest, deep-set aromatics of coal, pressed currant and black truffle are foiled by redolent tones of tilled soil, beef broth and slow roasted meats. Dark and brooding with immense concentration, persistence and energy it is somewhat of a heroic style but is gently laced with a long fine cloak of silken tannin.
