Every so often there are parcels of wine that generate tremendous excitement amongst the winemakers at Schild Estate. They set this aside to make Prämie, the wine that defines the best of the vintage and the land on which it was grown. Intense primary fresh plum flavours show again on the palate, where they hold their presence all the way through to roll out soft and pillowy at the finish. A firmly present, but fine tannin framework provides just enough focus and lift for the fruit to ensure added complexity, but retaining vibrancy to the mouth flavours of this Shiraz.

Chancellor & Co Shiraz is a wonderful example of flavourome, rich and ripe Shiraz at a great and affordable price. Nice flavours of red cherry with a lick of black pepper all rounded off with a soft, mellow finish.

The Pikes Eastside Shiraz is a rich ripe fruit Shiraz true to its Clare Valley origins. Dark berry flavours are integrated with the sweet oak character and long, satisfying textured finish.

This cool-climate Shiraz shows white pepper on the nose with dark fruit and blackberry characters. The palate is full and ripe with berry fruit flavour, tight acidity and fine grained tannins.

Deep blackcurrant core with a light cherry, red rim. A pronounced quite perfumed nose of spice, leather, damson, sweet smoke Fresh and juicy red fruits with spice and herb. Well balanced acid, velvety tannins and an elegant, juicy finish. Complex but not too full with elegantly handled oak. Drink now - 2028

This is a stylish shiraz by Mount Horrocks, classic in character with mouth-filling red and black fruits, rich and juicy. The palate is beautifully elegant, balanced with long fine tannins, spicy fruit and oak.

A pioneer of the Swan Valley region, Charles Ferguson was committed to developing the area along with the reputation of Houghton's.
