This fresh and elegant white exclusive takes its name from the source of its premium fruit – the Marchington Vineyard, planted on the Marchington estate, by a man called John Smith, the alleged illegitimate son of a King of England, shipped to Tasmania in the 1800s. This very rare wine is a co fermented “field blend” of the rare German variety Schönburger and our 1974 planting of Riesling. There are intense aromas of fruit and flower. Flavours abound, with Jasmine, gardenia, ripe grapefruit, honeydew, rockmelon, hints of wet-stone minerality and phenomenally clear golden delicious apple notes! Inherent fruit sweetness is balanced by refreshing acidity ensuring a crisp, fresh finish - it’s like standing in a field of daisies in summer, with a fresh fruit salad.
