Innocent Bystander eminates from Victoria's Yarra Valley and is the brain child of owner, Phil Sexton. With winemaker Steve Flamsteed on board, the Innocent Bystander wines are fantastically varietal and extremely approachable. After the success and cult following achieved by our St Huberts Stag Yarra Valley Pinot, we decided more people need to drink Pinot Noir, and we needed to venture out of the Yarra. 2017 is the first vintage of our Stag Victorian Pinot Noir. Fruit for this wine was harvested from selected sites, mainly around Yea, with some Beechworth and others in the mix. Picked early to maintain vibrant fruit, and treated respectfully to maintain freshness. Maturation took place in both stainless steel and seasoned French oak. Fresh, supple, fleshy - Pinot for the masses - that sings like Pinot.

From Victoria's first vineyard comes Little Yering, a bright, youthful and delicious Pinot Noir from Victoria's home for the variety, the Yarra Valley. Sourced from vineyards in the upper Yarra and the valley floor itself to provide a perfect balance between lifted aromas and notes of savouriness along with lush, rich and mouth-filling juice from the flats.

This is a typical cool climate Yarra Valley Pinot Noir with aromas of cherries and summer berries and hints of spice and oak. The palate is bright with red fruits and soft tannin. This is a versatile wine that will match well with many foods; try it with a charcuterie platter, pizza/pasta and porcini mushrooms or barbecued meats.

Made only in the best years, this wine is concentrated and intense. Powerful yet elegant, it has fine and silky tannins and a long finish. This wine is delicious now and will age beautifully for the next 10 years.

Grapes for this Pinot Noir were grown in the cool climate in Gruyere, Yarra Valley. Aromas and favours of blackberry, liquorice and cherry with hints of smoky paprika. Best enjoyed with fresh charcuterie
