Fragrant citrus blossom, with peach skin, pear, nougat and nutmeal give a complex and seductive entry. The palates fine citrus and stone fruits are deftly embellished with a cashew nut creaminess and a mineral savoury note, to add texture and drive. Fine grain French oak offers subtle support and the bright acidity, a fresh finish.

Deep Woods Hillside Chardonnay exhibits lifted nectarine and white blossom characters. A suggestion of cedar like oak frames the generous stone fruit characters and complex chipped shell minerality. The palate is clean and lively with tremendous depth of ripe stone-fruit flavour nuanced by cashew notes. Bright citrusy acidity ensures and long and seamless finish providing enhanced structure and length.

From the Lange family estate and vineyard situated in the picturesque Frankland River, tucked away in the far northwestern corner of the Great Southern. “This is a potent Chardonnnay of power and presence. Toasty whiffs with cedar and clove spice, some rich, hazelnut elements, ripe citrus, red apple and rockmelon in tow. The palate similar to the bouquet, bold and spicy, laden with woody seasoning and generous to a tee. In all that, the balance works well” (Halliday).
