A brilliant, exceptionally pale straw colour with youthful green tinges. The wine exhibits pungent spicy blossom and hints of stone fruits enhanced by an underlying citrus vibrancy. A seamless palate, with initial flavours of passionfruit and mandarin leading to a spicy mid-palate with richer hints of mango sorbet finishing with classic mouth-watering lemons and limes. Established in 1988 in Denmark, Western Australia, Harewood Estate was bought by ex-Howard Park winemaker, James Kellie, and his family in 2003. Since then, the winery has moved forward in leaps and bounds. It has garnered many favourable reviews from renowned wine critics whilst collecting a swag of wine show medals and trophies along the way. Kellie prides himself on delving into the true expression of the Great Southerns sub-regions of Denmark, Porongurup, Frankland River and Mount Barker using grape varietals such as Riesling, Semillon, Sauvignon Blanc, Chardonnay, Pinot Noir, Shiraz and Cabernet Sauvignon. While the unwooded version of Monty's Leap Chardonnay is a delicious wine in its own right, this rich, creamy and complex oaked version takes the variety to another level.Pale to mid-gold. Complex smoky oak, struck match, pineapple and stonefruit aromas. Subtle, latent and powerful, with ripe grapefruit, and grilled hazelnuts, very good depth of fruit, superb winemaking and gorgeous oak. Long and complex.

An elegant, vibrant and fragrant nose with lemon, lime and pear in the foreground. Notes of peach blossom and subtle jasmine create lift and combines with cardamom pod, almond meal and roasted cashew. The palate has immense purity, with power and persistence. Lime and lemon pith define the palate, which carries through to a delicately layered middle, threaded with a fine mineral spine. Sesame seed and blanched almonds enhance complexity, finishing with a sparkling acid structure. This wine has energy in its youth, and will build texture with cellaring.

Margaret River is a world renowned Chardonnay producing region and Pierro can rightfully stake a claim as to why. Incredibly complex, it is a tangle of fine-boned acid, lees complexity, pristine fruit and the most detailed use of good quality oak. Extremely enjoyable now, but will benefit from short to medium term cellaring.

Woodlands Chardonnay has an attractive nose of grapefruit enhanced by some oak characters. A wine of some finesse with the elements of fruit, oak and acid coming together to produce a wine of exceptional balance and length.

One of the best value Margaret River Chardonnays out there. Michael Kerrigan is doing an amazing job producing Chardonnays of elegance. Hay Shed Hill has delicate grapefruit and stone fruit flavours on the palate. And these flavours are matched with fine, minerally acidity with suble oak towards the finish.
