Triple maturation is the secret behind the award-winning taste of Whyte & Mackay. Firstly, the finest single malt whiskies, each individually matured for many years, are carefully selected by our Master Blender. Next, they are combined in sherry casks and matured once again to attain a perfect harmony of flavours. Finally, the blended malts are mixed with aged grain whiskies and returned to cask to mature even further. This dedication to the art of blending creates an extra smooth and richer tasting whisky. Whyte and Mackay can trace its roots back to 1844 in Glasgow. And if time has taught us anything, it's how to perfect our consistently smooth and rich tasting whisky. That's partly thanks to our triple maturation process and partly down to the abiding genius of our third generation master blender and those who came before him.

Ireland's most famous distillery have branched out and things just got zesty. Introducing Jameson Orange. The smooth taste of triple-distilled Jameson Irish Whiskey, perfectly balanced with notes of zesty Orange flavour. On the nose it boasts exceptionally well-balanced aromas of zesty peel and juicy orange citrus fruits, with sweet whiskey undertones. The palate is delicate, smooth and full mouthfeel with distinctive notes of orange zest as well as spicy, nutty, sweet vanilla. The finish is clean with a sweet orange aftertaste.

Hilke is a specialist in linocutting: a traditional and highly skilled craft, derived from woodcutting: the oldest printmaking technique. Woodcutting has been the inspiration behind all Eden Mill illustrations in our branding, so Hilke’s unique style and process was a perfect fit for our 2019 Release. Her work aligns perfectly with Eden Mill's traditional yet experimental principles. Eden Mill Head Distiller, Scott Ferguson has incorporated a selection of oloroso hogsheads, pedro ximenez hogsheads, american bourbon barrels, with a cask of chocolate malt spirit and crystal malt spirit to craft our latest Single Malt. 46.5% ABV.

Contrary to his extremely cautious, modest, highly moral character he recognised early the potential of blending malt and grain whisky: “Several fine whiskies blended together please the palates of a greater number of people than one whisky unmixed" , he wrote enthusiastically. This confidence led him to appoint a London agent for his brands as early as 1863 - the first whisky firm to do so. There are 35 constituent whiskies in Bell's blend today, including Oban, Inchgower, Caol Ila, Dufftown, Glenkinchie and Cameron Bridge, with Malt whisky from the Blair Athol distillery in Pitlochry forming the nutty, spicy heart of the final blend. Every whisky in the blend, both malt and grain, is aged for at least 8 years. (The legal minimum age for Scotch whisky is 3 years, thus Bells offers exceptional value). Today Bells is a bartenders standard for mixing any drink that involves Scotch, and maintains its market position as one of the top five selling whiskies of the world. Bells allows for versatility.

In years long-passed, Distillery workers would help themselves to a dram using a 'Copper Dog'; a pipe hidden inside the leg of their trousers.
