Sensational shiraz from carefully selected parcels of fruit from the Clare Valley. The wine has a seductive, lifted aroma characterised by plum, blackcurrant and dark cherry fruits along with subtle chocolate and a touch of oak derived spice. The palate is rich, luscious and round with intense, perfectly ripened fruit characters. Mocha coffee and subtle spice characters complement generous fruit flavours of plum and blackberry. The wine is medium to full-bodied with a soft mid-palate and supple tannins. It has a well balanced structure with great texture, good length and lashings of fruit on the finish. We love this wine. It's medium-bodied and just rolls off the tongue with all manner of delicious appealing flavours. The palate has an enticing mix of cloves and spices with a little blackcurrant character. The palate is generous with silky tannins and nice creamy oak with a lovely delicious finish.

Taylors Jaraman Shiraz continues the long tradition of producing flavour rich red wines from premium vineyards across South Australia. This Shiraz is sourced from the Clare Valley and McLaren Vale regions and brings a little bit from both worlds with rich, foreboding fruit from McLaren working in harmony with the aromatic and textured Clare Valley fruit. Delicious today, yet will cellar nicely for the medium term.

The fruit for this wine was sourced from premier blocks on the Taylor family estate in the Clare Valley. This is an elegant wine with immediate flavours of boysenberry, blackberry and then more subtle choc-mint and spice. The palate is bright, vibrant and juicy with a precise fine tannin line. The oak maturation brings depth and length to the palate. The wine is very well balanced with well integrated oak and the finish is persistent and imminently enjoyable.

Dense garnet colour. An intense nose of brambly fruit, crushed violets and coffee on the nose with hints of leather and mint. The palate is medium bodied with flavours of blackberries, blood plums and dark chocolate. Ripe, earthy tannins are supported by cedary oak and balanced by fine acidity and great length.

Pikes Wines is a beautiful location at Polish Hill River, near Sevenhill in the wonderful Clare Valley. With a history dating back to 1878, the Pike family has a past rooted in winemaking. Current custodians, Neil & Andrew form a formidable partnership creating wines that express terroir magnificently. Neil Pike grew up amongst his father, Edgars vineyards in Langhorne Creek and Padthaway . After doing a vintage in 1978 at Wynns Coonawarra he decided to study wine production and marketing at Roseworthy College. After he graduated in 1981, Neil worked as a winemaker making wine for several Clare Valley wineries before starting Pikes with brother Andrew in 1984. He has now completed 38 vintages in the Clare Valley. Andrew was introduced to the wine industry through his father Edgars vineyards in Langhorne Creek and Padthaway. Andrew attended Roseworthy Agricultural College, graduating in 1976 with a Diploma in Agriculture, and immediately joined Wynns Coonawarra Estate. After almost 4 years at Coonawarra, he joined Penfolds Wines in 1979 where he established a new vineyard project in the Clare Valley. The seeds for Pikes Wines were immediately sown, as he quickly realised Clares potential. Andrew become General Manger Vineyard Operations for the Southcorp Wine Group where he was responsible for over 6000 ha of corporate vineyard and all grape supply on a global basis. During this time he was also involved in the establishment of Pikes Wines in the Polish Hill River Valley sub region of Clare. In 1998 Andrew resigned his position at Southcorp to assist his brother Neil in the running of the Pikes family business.

Michael Kane, Chief Winemaker at Knappstein has a love for wine, and travel that has led him to visit and work across the world – Burgundy, Champagne, Oregon, Napa and Central Otago, and he has crafted many award-winning wines for celebrated brands such as Devil’s Lair, Stella Bella and Wolf Blass. The team at Knappstein consider themselves guardians of the vines, most of which are in excess of 50 years. They adopt a minimal intervention approach in the vineyard with the aim to create wines of real personality and unique regionality while maintaining rigorous high standards of sustainability.
