Picardy is owned and operated by Bill, Sandra, and Dan Pannell. Tete De Cuvee means the best wine of the vintage. Bass Phillip Wines Estate Pinot Noir

A complex wine with superb fruit intensity and structure, Bass Phillips Estate Pinot Noir displays vibrant red berry fruit and layers of earthy, minerally complexity that unfurl and evolve over time. The biodynamically managed Estate vineyard is close-planted to 8,500 vines/hectare and cropped at a low one tonne/acre. Soils in the area are free-draining and mineral rich which can encourage high vigour. This, coupled with the regions high rainfall, can lead to disease pressure; therefore, careful management of the canopy is essential. Owner/winemaker Phillip Jones meticulous management of the vineyard ensures the Estate Pinot Noir consistently expresses enchanting fruit purity, multi-layered complexity and a sense of place unlike any other in Australia.

Giant Steps Sexton Pinot Noir

This superb Pinot Noir shows what heights can be reached when modestly priced wines are produced in outstanding vintages. Expect a red and dark cherry fragrance with a hint of spice. It's light bodied with earthy flavours of red berries delivered with finesses one of the finest producers of the 'Fronsac' appellation. Predominantly Merlot, there's supreme depth of dark fruit, together with the 'polished' structure so synonymous with the 2012 vintage.

Yering Station Cabernet Sauvignon

Compelling and convincing, with florals, currants and blackberries, not too sweet; it has a savoury edge, with the oak seamlessly integrated. Perfectly ripe tannins with poise and presence ensure that this is lovely now, but will be more so in years to come.

Dry River Pinot Noir

Although this Pinot noir's deep purple colour is not necessarily an indication of quality, its intensity is a magnificent and seductive feature. The usual Dry River aromas of Christmas spice, pipe tobacco and plum are all in attendance. Initially this wine seems savoury, dark and brooding but elegant red berry and raspberry characters are not to be missed. This tension between dark and light, spice and fruit, opulence and restraint is a result of the blend of the three vineyards, Dry River, Craighall and Lovat with all three contributing their specific vineyard characteristics to the final wine. The juicy, sappy and dense fruit fills out the palate providing a full and fleshy mouth-feel. The acidity provides focus and a thoroughfare for the wine towards the back with a dapple of oak influence for support and additional complexity. While transparent tannins are no hindrance to the front palate, the soft nature of this wine is not to be misjudged.

Paringa Estate Reserve Shiraz

Fine grained and in balance tannins complement the extraordinary fruit weight to deliver a wine that will reward careful cellaring.
